Sometimes it can be hard to ask for help in today’s fast-paced society. We can feel like there is nowhere to go and no one to reach out to and eventually become discouraged in our journey and growth as individuals. We may seem like we are expected to have all the answers within ourselves, and these answers may be hard to come by. Having an ear to listen and guide you through the motions, thoughts, and negativity can be exceptional in the process of growth and healing.

You keep telling yourself that things will eventually get better, but instead you feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or stuck repeating the same patterns no matter how hard you try to move forward. Maybe your mind feels consumed by worry, intrusive thoughts, self-doubt, or the weight of past experiences that still seem to follow you into everyday life. Deep down, you want relief. You want to feel confident, grounded, and more like yourself again, but figuring out where to begin can feel overwhelming.

You’ve learned how to hold it together, but it costs you—constant anxiety, burnout, or the feeling that you’re never quite safe being yourself. If you’re neurodivergent or queer, your trauma may come from years of masking, rejection, or having to stay hyper-alert just to belong. You might feel disconnected from your body, unsure of your needs, or exhausted from trying to fit where you never truly did. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to explain or perform—a space to feel understood, rebuild self-trust, and slowly move out of survival mode into a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and sustainable.

We all face challenges in this wonderful thing we call life. It is not uncommon to feel as if our lives are unraveling when such challenges arise. My greatest reward as a therapist is helping my clients explore ways to make the changes in their lives that will allow them to look forward to the future with hope and excitement. I believe that we all need someone to talk to who will really listen to us without judgement in a warm, safe environment. Counseling Approaches: CBT; Solution-Focused Therapy; Gottman Method Couples Therapy

Many individuals find themselves struggling with how to get through difficult life events. Maybe you find yourself turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms through the use of drugs, alcohol, or relationships. These events may make it difficult to do even to smallest of tasks, like getting out of bed in the morning or eating. Sometimes it may manifest into not wanting to leave the house, and being fearful of social situations. Taking the first step towards therapy is taking the first step towards bettering yourself and the quality of your life. But what separates me from the rest of the therapists that your looking at?

The clients I work with don’t all look the same on paper. Different ages. Different identities. But they all have one thing in common: They’re in the middle of a life transition. Sometimes it’s obvious - divorce, menopause, new motherhood, relocation, coming out. Sometimes it’s quieter - an academic shift, moving into adulting, becoming an empty nester, aging parents, career pivots, health changes. And sometimes it’s internal: Realizing you’ve outgrown the life you built. Questioning your identity, faith, sexuality, or long-held roles. Noticing burnout you can’t push through anymore. I think of myself as a life midwife.

I’m a trauma therapist who works with survivors of narcissistic abuse and relational trauma. If you or your child have been hurt by a loved one and you don't know what to do now or how to heal, you're not alone. Whether you've been hurt by past relationships, are navigating separation/divorce, or are figuring out how to coparent with a difficult partner, I'm here to help. I know how hard it is to feel so heavy and wonder if it's possible to ever feel better. I know how tough it is for kids to navigate such difficult relationships and how it affects their mood and behavior.

What brought you here today? For many of us, we seek counseling because of pain, distress or the sense something is missing in our lives. That certainly was the case for me. This quote by Pema Chödrön inspired me to curate an intentional life and help others do the same, "Only to the degree that we’ve gotten to know our personal pain, only to the degree that we’ve related with pain at all, will we be fearless enough, brave enough, and enough of a warrior to be willing to feel the pain of others.” If you are ready to create an intentional life, I would love to walk with you and be a guide.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
