Robyn Starks is a Resident in Counseling (RIC) who has more than 7 years of experience working with children, adults, individuals, and couples who are seeking help in coping with depression, anxiety, stress, grief, life transitions, communication, coping skills and parenting issues. Her passion includes learning alongside couples while helping them build and maintain fulfilling relationships through self-awareness and continued growth. Robyn completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kennesaw State University and received his Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Richmont Graduate University.

My work is influenced by psychodynamic, interpersonal and attachment theories. I believe that at the core of a healthy and satisfying life is the capacity to form intimate attachments and maintain ongoing satisfying relationships. Therapy is a place where individuals can tell the meaningful stories of their lives and explore habitual patterns and relational styles. Doing this successfully requires a setting where the person feels safe and comfortable enough to explore their past and present relationships. My goal is for a person to discover the cut-off parts of themrself, thus allowing change and the emergence of one's true self.

Barbara takes satisfaction in working with adults on a number of issues such as anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, divorce recovery, identity, and disordered eating. Everyone experiences difficulties and stress in life. Whether it is personal problems, relational issues, family or work situations, or chronic illness - professional, competent counseling can help. I do believe, however, that healing and flourishing are possible, and that you are meant to experience them. Because we are made up of multiple parts, I believe that using a blend of modalities, a holistic multidisciplinary approach, is most helpful in bringing integration back to our beings. Harm, wounds, and trauma cause division and fragmentation between our body, soul, and spirit, and each part of us needs care.

I have extensive experience in treating depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem issues, and marital/family issues. I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as I believe our thoughts and behaviors are connected and affect one another. I also provide Christian Counseling, as I am a Christian, and that does affect my paradigm. I approach therapy with you being an active participant in the process.
