Hello. I use a direct, yet supportive approach to focus on improving life skills and releasing negative beliefs and behaviors. Experience has shown that by changing unhealthy patterns, expressing fears, and taking gentle risks, it is possible to live a more satisfying life regardless of past traumas and other issues. With a combination of techniques, we will work together on both short and long term goals. I am an interactive therapist and encourage intensive work both in and out of the office. I have a home office and use video sessions as needed to help with time constraints/distance. I have two small sweet dogs.

The study of psychology to me isn't the study of the mind as most would believe. But rather it's the study of the soul. The word psychology comes from the Greek word 'psyche' (or soul) and 'logos' (or study) which concludes that psychology literally means the study of the soul. As a care specialist I desire to be a holistic care provider embracing both the study of the soul and behavior. I have provided various spiritual and
bereavement
care and support counseling throughout my career. As a pastor I've utilized my clinical training to help trouble souls.

I frequently work with anxiety, depression, dating/singleness,
grief
, and self esteem.
Have you found yourself feeling stuck or discouraged lately? Some of the struggles I hear about include self-doubt, boundaries, and life transitions. Others are dealing with toxic relationships, family, or work environments. People usually come to therapy because they're experiencing pain in one form or another. I've worked with clients of all ages and with a variety of issues, but the thing most of them have in common is that they all need someone in their lives to remind them that they matter. Everyone needs a sounding board, a place they can process without fear of judgment. I would love to provide that space for you.

It’s truly incredible when a person sees that there’s something inside them that they want to work on, and then they go after that. It’s incredible that you’re here, that you’re searching. The people who want to be the best version of themselves, who want to break “generational traumas” and work on their mental health so that they can pass down health, wholeness, peace, and light to the next generation - those are the superheroes. Our mental health is our foundation for how we relate to ourselves and world around us after all - Our God, ourselves, and others.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
