I define trauma as anything difficult from your past that is present in your life that affects you in a negative manner.
Connection & Sense of Belonging: We all want to be accepted and know we matter. Challenging life experiences disrupt these connections and leave you feeling isolated and alone. My first priority is creating a meaningful relationship through respect and non-judgement by listen to your story and what brings you to seek support and guidance. People I work with struggle with anxiety, depression, and often have negative core beliefs from past experiences that inform present decisions and actions. I help people find relief and re-define beliefs in a more positive direction.

I work with clients who have experienced early childhood trauma due to divorce, adoption/foster care, abuse, racism and other traumas.
Life is complex. Some challenges we face come for a season and others for a lifetime. Perhaps it's a seasonal time of difficulties for you and the next step seems daunting or even unknown. Maybe you have experienced trauma that has changed the way you see and interact in the world. Hardships in our lives can make us question who we are and wonder where our place is in this world. Through our time together, I want to walk with you as you define who you are and how you want to move and take that "next best step" for yourself.

My focus areas are couples dealing with trauma and attachment issues, women business owners with small children and those dealing with (or who suspect) a personality disorder.
Many individuals are facing harsh realities of feeling empty inside, struggling with maintaining healthy relationships as well as feeling burnout from work. While covid can explain much of the perceived unwanted change happening, for many it has led to self-reflection and understanding one’s traumas and dormant issues that may now be impacting relationships and interactions with others. Collaboratively, we can unpack trauma , attachment types and communication styles that influence your relationships and overall mental wellbeing. An investment in your mental health can help you to live the life you choose.

We can help you move from trauma to triumphs.
Narcissistic Abuse Recovery, You thought you met your soul mate; found the perfect partner; that one special person in the universe. He was so attentive to every detail to please you. Idealized. Then in a blink of an eye you were devalued, or perhaps replaced and discarded multiple times, only to be ‘hoovered’ and lured back into an abuse cycle. Your sense of self has been eroded, diminished. We can help you find your way back to YOU, help you love yourself again. Help you heal.

I am an Anxiety, OCD and Trauma specialist. When clients come to work with me they are often struggling with fear of the unknown, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, behavioral and mental compulsions, negative intrusive thoughts and other such patterns that are taking them deeper into the fear spiral. In therapy, I support my clients in developing a kinder relationship with themselves while becoming more conscious of the negative coping patterns that are holding them in cycles of pain. We work on shifting this while also developing the positive coping skills needed to move towards a healthier, freer and more joyful life.

With effective therapy like EMDR we can rewrite negative stories in your unconscious mind, where memories of irrational fears and trauma are stored, so that you may achieve a more thoroughgoing renovation of your mind, soul, and spirit.
Licensed to practice telehealth with people located in Georgia or Florida. You are too familiar with stress, worry, and anxiety - even overthinking. Are you feeling lonely, inadequate, socially anxious, even panicky? Sick and tired of living constantly anxious and fearful? You can be helped to grow and expand into a state of self-confidence and empowerment to live a life worth living. Avoidance and self-medicating with alcohol/drugs can leave you high and dry - even feeling worse! You can learn how to make your fears and worries smaller and manageable, and practice the steps toward leading a satisfying life. This is too important.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
