What shows up as anger, frustration, or withdrawal is often your nervous system trying to cope with something deeper.
I work with kids (4+), teens, and adults especially those who express what they’re feeling through behaviors and actions rather than words. I specialize in working with children and men to break patterns/cycles, understand feelings/emotions/reactions, and feel more connected and fulfilled.

I have over 10 years experience working with anxiety, stress, anger issues, and trauma.
It is an honor and privilege when people choose to reach out and share some of the most vulnerable areas of their lives with me, and is not something I take lightly. I understand that choosing to inquire about counseling means different things for different people, and that each person brings a different life journey. I love walking along side my clients, empowering them to make healthy changes, while approaching each person with empathy, genuineness, and warmth.

Expression relieves depression, and emotions are energy that needs to be released, not ignored or suppressed. I believe that emotional safety is the foundation for emotional processing, self-healing, and authentic human connection.
Many of us grew up in emotionally unsafe environments that wired us to survive, not thrive. Your adult brain and body still carry the stories of your inner child’s nervous system. What once kept you safe is now keeping you stuck and disconnected from yourself, your people, and your life. You deserve inner peace and an emotionally safe space to find, express, and embody your most authentic, healthy self.

My approach is to accept that all people will see the world through their own filter. Everyone's belief system makes sense from their perspective. Unhappiness is caused by the view people take of things so the internal dialogue is the key to understanding people. Focus of therapy is to help indiviudals find a better way of looking at their current situation through empathy and cognitive restructuring. The ultimate goal is finding some joy in the journey.

I can create a nonjudgmental validating space for clients to process and express their needs and goals. Clients are the ‘master of their own experience’ and I can help them navigate how they want to write the next chapter. There is a time for mindfulness, time for cognitive reframing, and times where the best feedback is no feedback. There are various variables that can have someone seek therapy so I will maintain a trauma-informed and cultural competent approach. There is no ‘on sized’ fits all approach. I embrace that no client is the same and can use their own strengths to be a protective factor on their mental health journey.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
