I work with adult individuals and couples both in-person as well as online video.
I am curious about you. I want to know your thoughts and feelings, your strengths and struggles. I want to get to hear your story. I see therapy as a journey we take as a team: working together to find the right path to meet your goals. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, life stress, or maybe just want to give therapy a try, I’d love to talk.

Individuals, couples , and families will benefit from my systemic approach that encourages exploration of both supportive and troubling relationships.
In our bodies, all parts impact others and symptoms are often an alert that the entire system needs support. The same is true in our relationships. Because of the 'need to connect' that I believe exists in all of us, it is important to be aware of how parts of our lives effect our relationships and who we are in those relationships. Through the integration of neurologically treating emotional imbalances and my systemic counseling training, I am equipped to support individuals, couples , and families in achieving interpersonal, relational, and spiritual (if applicable) wholeness.

Through a person-centered approach, I seek to partner with you to identify your own inner strength! True healing comes from inside out.
Transitions can be scary and unknown—being on your own for the first time, starting college, being an empty nester struggling to find purpose, being retired and feeling a loss of identity, hurting from past trauma or struggling with your spiritual journey. Often, feeling lost can lead to depression, anxiety, a sense of not belonging and even mal-adaptive behaviors such as substance abuse or self-harm. I am passionate about working with individuals to tap into their inner strength, desires and potential while identifying and overcoming those barriers that arise.

I have experience workings with individuals, families, and couples .
I have been a counselor for over 19 years and have found that often, as individuals reflect on the journey of their lives, it seems as if the story they are living, is not the story they had hoped to find themselves in. Heartache from the past, and even anxiety promoted by an uncertain future can serve to distort one's view of oneself and the unfolding story. Watching God use brokenness to move people toward redemption is one of my greatest privileges as a therapist.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
