Hello, There is hidden potential for greatness in all persons. Often when you have thoughts or feelings that are causing problems for you, it is easy to think something is wrong with you. There is nothing wrong with you. You are perfect, it is that part of your mind that needs to be fixed and I would love to help you do that. I truly love helping families be strong units. There are no "bad children," only bad behavior. In both children and adults, bad behavior often comes from unmet needs and fears. With children, it could also come from undiagnosed learning disabilities. Let's figure this out together.

I decided to be a counselor because I understood the importance of someone who looks like me doing this work. My goal is to create an open and affirming space for everyone including, Black bodies, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those creating healthy non-traditional relationships. Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and trauma are common issues that can impact your day to day lives and close relationships no matter your background. By the end of therapy, you will be more confident in speaking up for yourself and creating healthy boundaries.

Do you feel "stuck" in survival mode, trapped by overwhelming anxiety, behavioral ruts, or persistent shame. Perhaps your life is a fear-driven pursuit of avoiding pain and feeling good - only to find that avoiding the "mess" has made the suffering deeper. You want more than symptom relief; you want a sense of vitality and a life that's worth inhabiting. You long to move with a settled self, connecting to your values even when things feel heavy or chaotic. If you are ready to stop hiding and start living into the raw fullness of life, we may be a good fit.

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, anger and emotion dysregulation difficulties, communication skill development, the development of coping skills to help with adjusting to life stressors, and psychological testing.
I’m straightforward, but I’m also easy to talk to — I use humor when it helps take the pressure off, and I don’t make people feel judged for being human. My style is honest, curious, and collaborative: I don’t just sit quietly and nod; I actually engage with you. Clients often tell me that they feel understood without having to over-explain themselves.

ADHD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
