Alcohol. Tricky stuff. We go years and years and think we have it under control and before we know it we are over the cliff - absent a parachute. Drugs aren't much different... just faster and illegal. Sometimes our problems increase gradually until we turn around one day and think "done with this... not living this way anymore." Or it is that one nasty event you didn't even see coming: the accident and DUI, the separation-causing fight, the job loss. Embarrassment goes up; self-esteem goes down. The hole seems deep and hopeless. And still the drug, the drink keeps calling you back. Fear and bewilderment rule the day.

So happy to see you here! Seeking support is the sign of a person who takes action! Many people view therapy as an answer for deep trauma or severe problems. It can be, but all that is required is to be human. Everyone can benefit from moments of full acceptance and no judgment. If you're here, you want or need something different, more or better. I won't fix or solve anything FOR you, but I will search, guide and work right beside you. I believe therapy and coaching should feel comfortable and positive-a moment you look forward to every time!

Welcome! I am a licensed psychologist who provides psychotherapy for individual adults, couples, and adolescents. I have found that one of the most powerful ways to grow is the relationship between the psychotherapist and client. This connection can give way to discovering greater yearnings, self authenticity, capabilities, and dreams, while providing warmth and care for addressing one's obstacles such as fears, disappointments, and limits. I would help you to deal with conflicts that block your motivation and passion and help you open to new ways of engaging with your inner resources and with the significant people in your life.

I offer virtual & in person psychological testing for adults and children for ADHD, ASD, executive dysfunction, emotional and personality disturbance, and cognitive impairment.
I am a clinical psychologist with a foundation in psychodiagnostics and philosophical psychology. My work focuses on helping individuals understand the cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal patterns that shape their experience and constrain growth. While diagnostic clarity is important, my approach moves beyond labels to examine the underlying schemas, learning histories, and contextual processes that give rise to distress and keep it in place. Using a process-based assessment framework, I develop an individualized map of how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships function together within a person's life context.

He takes the time to listen to what his patient is experiencing in their words, and this guides treatment approach and the testing process.
Adam also thinks it’s crucial for patients and their families/caregivers/supporters to come away with a clear understanding of test results, findings, and reason behind treatment recommendations, so he encourages questions and discussion rather than simply providing a review of test results.

Testing and Evaluation Therapists
What is a psychological evaluation?
A psychological evaluation is a test or assessment most commonly administered by a trained psychologist that is intended to be used in the diagnosis of specific psychological conditions, such as ADHD, mood disorders, personality disorders, dementia or Alzheimer's, and learning disabilities. Psychological evaluations can help inform future treatment decisions and help direct clients to professionals and resources that may be most helpful, such as potential therapy options or additional school supports.

Can psychological evaluations be done on individuals of any age group?
Psychological evaluations are conducted on individuals of all ages and can be beneficial to individuals across the lifespan. However, specific types of evaluations may be most frequently conducted on individuals of certain age groups. For instance, ADHD or learning disability testing is often conducted in children ages 4-12--the period of time when ADHD symptoms most commonly emerge. In contrast, cognitive functioning assessments, such as those conducted to diagnose dementia, are most commonly conducted in elderly individuals. Clients should ensure that the psychologist they are seeing has specific expertise in conducting evaluations in their age group to ensure they receive a correct diagnosis.

How long does a psychological evaluation take?
Psychological evaluations vary in length depending on the test being administered and the goals of the evaluation; however, most evaluations are 2-4 hours in length. Some evaluations may take as long as 8 hours but can often be spread across multiple days. In some cases, clients will also attend an intake session or interview, which can help the psychologist assess client functioning outside of the testing environment.

How should I prepare for a psychological test and evaluation?
Individuals do not need to prepare for psychological tests or evaluations in most cases, as they are intended to measure a client's baseline psychological status without test-specific preparation. However, clients may want to brainstorm a list of questions for their psychologist about any tests they are receiving prior to the assessment, including what potential outcomes may mean for what next steps the client should take.
