Many of our life experiences, especially those involving our mental health, take us places we don’t expect. This can lead us to feel discouraged, isolated, and hopeless at times; and far from the things we value. Born from my own life is a connection I feel with caregivers and loved ones of individuals with psychotic disorders; and those who are living with a severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, depression, and bipolar disorder themselves. It may be hard work at times, but I believe together we can improve functioning, quality of life, and find hope.

Although many of our clients prefer virtual sessions, we are now a hybrid practice offering both virtual and in person sessions.
Offering over 35 years of quality counseling experience, I help couples and adults find better connections in their relationships. I work with couples to repair broken bonds, recover from affairs and infidelity, rekindle passion, and re-establish open, safe communication. Ending long patterns of repetitive conflict can be done with the right level of commitment and quality couples counseling. Likewise, I'm honored to help individuals heal from experiences that have created blocks to their personal fulfillment.

There is nothing you have done or been through that God cannot forgive or redeem. God has good plans for you! But if you struggle to believe it because of fear, trauma, anxiety, grief, or overlapping life stressors, you won't be able to live out His will of peace for your life. Understanding where your distorted thoughts, uncontrollable feelings and misguided behaviors come from is the first step in navigating towards meaningful changes. In my years of experience working with broken people, the main reasons for resistance to counseling are confused priorities, fear of being vulnerable, and shame. Be brave; break that cycle today.

Looking for a therapist who, while in graduate school, only studied ways for helping people. I'm not the one you want. Of course I'm clinically trained, but my practical approach stems from my personal life experiences. If my forwardness offends you (I don't intend to), you should probably seek out another therapist. But, if you want someone who will be both honest and compassionate, I am the right guy. I know pain firsthand: PTSD, combat trauma, divorce, addiction, loss, shame, humiliation, anxiety, depression, failure, etc. Been there, done that. Many therapists, though well meaning, have only studied about these issues.

I enjoy working with those clients who recognize that change can happen and is good. I enjoy working with individuals, families, couples and groups. Those who recognize that change depends on them, individually and collectively. I do not cause change but only facilitate the process. As we are all in the process of living and life can sometimes be very difficult, we can learn and change everyday. I can help you become the person you want to be, just as the chrysalis wants and does become a beautiful butterfly.

Hi! I'm glad you're here. Something probably isn't working and you’re probably tired of pretending it is. My approach does not come with judgment, but with curiosity and compassion. I work with teens (13+) and adults navigating relationship conflict, trauma, stress, burnout, anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, and personality disorders. Therapy with me is often about digging deeper- getting underneath the coping strategies and helping your nervous system finally exhale instead of just survive. My approach is holistic and integrative and I believe that real healing happens when the brain, body, and emotions are all included in the work.

I offer in person sessions in Peachtree City, GA or telehealth through the state of Georgia.
My ideal client is insightful but overwhelmed—often a teen, adult, or couple facing anxiety, disordered eating, emotional dysregulation, or identity confusion. They may feel stuck, burnt out, or disconnected from themselves or others. Many are neurodivergent or navigating relational strain. They want clarity, coping tools, and deeper connection. Their goals include emotional regulation, improved relationships, self-acceptance, and a sense of peace. They’re ready to grow—they just need a space that feels safe, affirming, and structured enough to help them get there.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
