behavioral therapy (
) and narrative therapy to explore the triggers of mild, moderate, and severe depression and anger along with spiritual exercises (scriptures, meditation, prayer, songs, encouragement, self-talk, etc.
I was struggling to cope with a disability, depression, and anger between the ages 16 to 23. I was in a car accident in 1999 that severely damaged my spinal cord and caused me to rely on the use of a wheelchair for the rest of my life. Building a relationship with God helped me to overcome my disability, depression and anger. It also gave me what I needed to live through my daily struggles. The spiritual exercises that have helped me during my process were prayer, meditation, reading scriptures, faith building, forgiveness, gratitude, and discussing my concerns with Christian counselors.
