Hi, my name is Tara Williams, and I am a professional counselor with experience helping people grow out of emotional immaturity, shame, and doubt in themselves and learn how to take control of the areas of life where they feel helpless while letting go of control in the areas they are holding too tightly. I have worked with a long list of different combinations of psychological conditions. Still, I feel it is better to view each life as unique and filled with purpose instead of labeling every problem a disorder.

I can often participate in behavioral health symposiums throughout the country and advocate for supporting marriage, strengthening single-parent homes, and military and veteran families, educating young parents, and promoting collectivism for the community’s wellbeing.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia and am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy - Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) and DBT. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults, combining individual with family work. I earned my Masters of Social Work from Georgia State University in 2009 and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Society and Justice from the University of Washington. I am a member of the Georgia Society of Clinical Social Work and have worked in outpatient private practice and community mental health as well as inpatient psychiatric.

I am an adolescent and adult therapist with seven years of experience. I focus on mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, life transitions, and adolescents/teens.
