We all have a story. For many of us, that story includes painful or harmful experiences, along with moments of goodness and grace if we are among the fortunate. Whether we recognize it or not, these experiences shape the ways we cope, relate to God and others, and understand ourselves. Sometimes, we sense that something isn’t quite right, but we struggle to identify exactly what it is or how to address it. For the last 17 years, I have been walking with both men and women through difficult times and trials like what I just described, or through various other types of difficult life issues.

At first glance, it appears you have your stuff together. The person you show the world is independent and strong, people see you as the reliable one. They do not know you are struggling each day with feeling overwhelmed. You aren’t sure how to break the cycle of being the strong one. You may even be uncertain as to if you want to change. You made it this far because you know something must change.

I am pretty traditional in my beliefs about the purpose of therapy, but not your traditional therapist.I do not sit with a notebook and write down everything you say with a hmm at the end before I collect my fee.I am interactive and even directive sometimes. I guess that's why I work well with teenagers:) So, if you want therapy to be fun, I'm your gal. My specialty area has been adolescents and addiction for over 30 years, but I see adults too (codependence, divorce, parent alienation) etc. I am also a past President of LPCA, and operate a new virtual business called ProjectEvolve.com. It is an alternative to social media for kids.

Growing up in Ghana, there was no such thing as talk therapy. Mental health was not a topic of discussion in my culture. I became fascinated with talk therapy during my college years here in America. Over the years, I have felt the need to bring talk therapy to the fore front of my community and all. My exprience has been working with adults with serious mental illnesses, children with family trauma and abandonments, individuals and families. I specialize in couples and groups as well. My approach is creating a safe space for you to be vulnerable and sincere in your disclosure of deep and personal thoughts. I am an LGBTQ ally.
