This can be your first time reaching out to a therapist, or maybe you have been in therapy before. The most important to me is that you have a clear understanding of what therapy is, how it works, how/if you can benefit from it now, what alternatives you have, other supports you may need, and if I am the right fit for you. Issues that I will best support you with include: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress management, life transitions, grief, trauma, PTSD, religion and
spirituality
related goals, cultural adjustment, and overall life satisfaction and wellness.

The treatment of the whole person including
spirituality
(if they are spiritual) is very important.
My potential clients are aware they need counseling or have reached a point where they cannot manage their life effectively. While they are in charge of what they do with their lives they may feel unable to navigate it. They need support, education, empathy, tools, and insight to help them with better decision making and the ability to navigate their path. They want a therapist that is genuine and can offer multiple perspectives, insights, and empathy while helping them work through what their current struggle is. Therapy is a safe place to work through all thoughts, feelings and concerns without judgement.

I assist with life challenges such as adjustment issues, transitions into new phases of life, managing mental health symptoms, trauma recovery/PTSD,
spirituality
, anxiety, stress, communication issues, and conflict management.
I am accepting new clients for Daytime Hours- Let’s face it, asking for help can be one of the most difficult things to do. It might seem easier to search online and try to figure things out by yourself. Looking things up online is convenient, but the value of person-to-person communication with a professional in a safe and supportive setting is irreplaceable.

spirituality
. Her theoretical focus combines a psychodynamic and interpersonal approach, while intertwining EMDR, CBT, and DBT therapies.

Relationship is core to healing. I want clients to feel at home in my office where I create a non-judgmental and non-critical environment for exploration of the client's values and beliefs as a key to opening up the path of healing. My strengths of learner, responsibility, maximizer, developer and harmony are used to engage and connect in relationship. As a trauma informed counselor, I believe getting to the root source of issues maximizes healing while creating safety and stabilization promotes healthy grieving. Current concerns are important and incorporated in the overall treatment plan.

As a holistic psychotherapist, I maintain a "mind-body-environment" perspective to understand how mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health are interconnected and interrelated to our relationships with others, the environment (nature-culture) and ourselves. I recognize that when those elements are imbalanced, it creates symptoms that can lead to suffering. Anxiety and depression, among other mind-body symptoms, are both cause and effect of this imbalance. They are also the cause of feeling stagnant in life, another root of suffering. Therefore, I hope to work with my patients to create balance and find flow in their life.

Spirituality Therapists
What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.
What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.
Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.
How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
