I specialize in supporting clients navigating eating disorders, body image struggles, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and sleep difficulties.
You might be used to doing it all alone until life throws something at you that feels too heavy to carry by yourself. Even the most capable, independent people can feel stuck, overwhelmed, or off-track when the stressors keep piling up. If you’re finding it hard to feel like yourself lately, therapy can help you reconnect with your strengths and move forward with clarity and purpose.

I know how hard it can be to make the decision to seek help. I’ve been grateful to have therapists offer a nonjudgmental space and unconditional encouragement and support through some pretty difficult times. It helped me feel understood and propelled me forward, and it’s what I strive for with every one of my clients. If you're struggling with change, or you're just not sure how to move forward, we'll work together so you leave each session feeling heard, capable and equipped.

As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I believe just as much therapeutic work should be done outside of therapy as within counseling sessions. Being fully invested in the therapeutic process is key to positive outcomes. Clients are expected to be fully present during therapy sessions and open to experimenting with a variety of techniques to assist with identifying how thoughts, feelings, and situations contribute to maladaptive behaviors.

I specialize in helping individuals identify, acknowledge, and develop understanding about how their emotions show up in their interactions and how this insight helps them better communicate their needs. Through this process, clients discover who they are authentically, accept and affirm their true selves, and make choices that lead to a more fulfilled, integrated, and intentional life. Sessions with me are typically relaxed and informal and I can help you develop goals to help clarify your situation, consider your options, and make decisions that are the best fit for you.

Hello there and welcome! I'm so glad you're here. Personal challenges require courage and belief in oneself to conquer. I believe perception plays a key role in the mental healthiness of individuals and many times distorted perception can hinder us from growth. I love working with individuals who seek to develop healthy coping mechanisms and increase overall self esteem. My passion in counseling is working with individuals who experience anxiety and other mood disorders in addition to challenges with life transitions, self-esteem, and social skills. I love working with children, adolescents, and young adults as individual clients.

My focus in working with clients is to help foster personal awareness, to draw out inner strengths, and provide tools to cope with life's challenges. All of us have certain thoughts and behaviors that are unhealthy and at times can even be destructive or keep us stuck. My hope is that the therapeutic relationship creates a deeper, richer understanding and acceptance of the underlying issues in one's life.

Do you look like you’re holding it all together, but inside you’re exhausted, anxious, and running on fumes? Maybe you’re snapping at your kids and then drowning in guilt. Maybe you lie awake at night with a brain that won’t shut off. You’re the one everyone depends on, and there’s no space left for you. If you’re a busy woman in East Cobb or Marietta who feels stretched thin, overwhelmed, or constantly “on,” you’re not broken — you’re burned out.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
