While active listening is an important skill for a therapist, listening can only go so far. All of the therapists here believe that what sets us apart from many other therapists is the fact we actually help you help yourself make the necessary changes in your life by giving you techniques, tools, skills, and guidance to achieve your goals. You'll almost always walk out of a session with a new technique or two that you can go home and start using immediately. All eight of our therapists are highly trained, personable, and ready to give you the stills and techniques you need.

Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change. If we want things to change, we have to take action consistent with achieving that change. Therapy can be an integral part of that action. Occasionally, past experiences and current life circumstances can have a negative impact on our mental health and lives in whole. We may fall into repetitive patterns that can become the 'unhealthy way we operate'. Acknowledging and addressing issues can be challenging and exciting at the same time, as we become more aware and progress towards desired change.

You’re doing your best—but something still feels off. Maybe you’re successful on the outside but overwhelmed or disconnected on the inside. You might be navigating a major life change, feeling stuck in old relationship patterns, or trying to make sense of what’s next. If you're tired of trying to hold it all together alone, therapy can offer the space and tools to help you reset, reconnect, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. You're not meant to figure it all out by yourself—and you don't have to.

Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when stress, loss, or past experiences begin to take a toll. You may be holding it all together on the outside while feeling disconnected or weighed down on the inside. I support adults who are looking to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in how they cope with life's challenges. Perfectionism, difficulty connecting with yourself and others, or uncertainty about how to move forward can be hard work, especially by yourself.

Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT) Therapists
What should I expect from rational emotive behavior therapy?
The therapist will work with the individual to recognize rigid thought patterns that sabotage goals and set them back. The objective is to identify, challenge and reframe negative thoughts and enable an individual to understand that they possess control over their emotions and their behavior. This therapy often emphasizes the use of reasoning and self-direction.

Is rational emotive behavior therapy effective?
Rational emotive behavior therapy is evidence-based and is highly effective. It helps a person reframe self-defeating or catastrophizing thoughts and gives them tools to approach a range of circumstances they may encounter post-therapy as well. REBT can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.

When do I know if I need treatment with rational emotive behavior therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with rigid, unreasonable thoughts that dwell in negativity, they may feel stuck. A rational emotive behavior therapist can help a person examine and change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior. This concise and concrete therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

How long does rational emotive behavior therapy last?
REBT therapy treatment is short-term and focused in nature. It can last for a set number of sessions, ending within a few weeks or months. Like any type of therapy, however, sessions depend on the individual, as well as the severity of their condition or problem. The individual may wish to ask the therapist about typical progress and how long they expect treatment to take.
