In today's modern world it's difficult for many boys and young men to find their place. They feel adrift, lacking a sense of purpose to drive them forward in life. I enjoy helping teenage boys and young men navigate the transition from boy to man in the modern world. As a therapist I seek to create a space where clients can gain insight, build self-confidence, and develop a sense of purpose in their life. I offer services for individuals, and social skills and process-oriented groups. I am a pre-licensed professional under supervision with S. Alexis Davis, MS, LPC, CPCS

I have over 20 years of experience in working with men's issues, out-of-control sexual behavior, sex addiction, porn addictions, low sexual desire, relationship issues, dating issues, and at-hope youth.
When I was younger and going through my personal issues, I often had caring people who I looked up to that I could talk to. I have always wanted to be that person for others. Thus, I have made this my career... helping others become the best versions of themselves.

It is lonely at the top. Running your own business or being part of the leadership of one is challenging in ways that are difficult for others to understand. Showing weakness feels unsafe. There is always something you can or should be doing. The lives of others are directly and indirectly affected by your decisions. Getting things wrong has repercussions that ripple out in ways no one can expect. It is hard for anyone not to feel the pressure. Therapy for executives can help.

Darrin is a licensed professional counselor trained to work with men, women, adolescents, couples and groups requiring professional help. He realizes that life produces internal storm damages occurring far too often without any damage control or prevention. The causes of moodiness, irritability, restlessness, discontentment, fear, doubt, uncertainty, anger, depression, anxiety, insomnia and addiction all have one thing in common - a lack of holistic wellness. Recovery from the internal/external effects of untreated mental and emotional damages is what he will introduce you to.

I believe therapy helps us understand the power of the mind. This is especially useful when we feel disconnected, marginalized, or stigmatized. When we feel this way, learning how the mind channels this information through thoughts, feelings, emotions, and perceptions, can influence us to recognize our own cognitive processes and how they impact our life. If we attend to our cognitive processes in a healthy way, it may lead to regulation of mood, clarity, balance and feelings of peace. We start to evolve and accept certain things about ourselves. We begin to feel at peace from within. I help my clients through this process.

I help clients with life transitions, relationship challenges, and men's issues.
You may be someone who holds a lot together on the outside but feels stuck in the same relationship dynamics, stress cycles, or family patterns underneath. Maybe you’re the capable one people rely on, yet you find yourself carrying more than you should. My name is Ramie Sodaro, LMFT, and I work with adults navigating relationship strain, chronic stress, and the lasting influence of family-of-origin dynamics. I help people examine relational patterns and unresolved experiences that continue to shape how they show up in their lives and relationships.

I engage with my clients as a deeply empathetic and strengths-based therapist who believes that the greatest power for healing and growth lies within each person. My goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where individuals, couples, and families can confront the challenges that prevent them from living fully and authentically. My approach is both holistic and empowering—centered on helping clients discover the resilience and healing potential that already exists within them.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
