I truly believe that therapy is one of the best investments you can make for yourself and your family .
Do you long for increased understanding, improved communication, and deeper connection with your partner? Are you arguing more and enjoying each other less? Is the romance gone? Are you concerned about your child's mood or behavior? Does he/she seem anxious or depressed? Are you worried that you may repeat destructive patterns from your childhood? Would you like to improve communication with your child? Or, are you interested in working through your own individual unresolved issues or situational problems? Would you like to learn healthier coping skills, let go of self-defeating patterns, and move toward your full potential?

Couples who are busy with career or family life, but still want to make counseling possible, are good fits for my online practice.
Couples often experience the frustration of being stuck in a pattern of having the same conflicts over and over. The vision of loving one person for a lifetime seems easy in the early stages of love. But, when the inevitable stress of life comes, you may find yourself questioning the decision to be together. Many couples today know they want better relationships than their own parents had, but need role models and help building lasting marriages. You are not alone.

For the past 25 years, my wife and I have had a select group of men and women walk with us as we built our family and our home.
I believe that life is a journey that causes us to have many experiences . Some joyful, some challenging, some very painful and disappointing. It is during these times that we need someone walk with us as we process these experiences. I would love opportunity to walk with you as we gain new perspectives and understandings from these events in life. I use a strength based, holistic and collaborative approach. I place priority upon developing and fostering positive therapeutic relationships with each client. Together we will explore where you've been, where you are now and where you would like to go.

As a practicing therapist, I aim to provide the mental health support I want for my wife, family , friends, and myself. Therapy that is rooted in love. As a Black Trans-Masculine, I know how hard it can be to understand, love, and believe in yourself when surrounding environments reject uniqueness. Every person and situation is different, but I aim to walk with you as you build the strength and resiliency needed to conquer life’s battles. You should have the privilege of understanding that peace is gained from being resilient and knowing that you have the strength to handle your future and set your standards for happiness.

My areas of expertise include generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, relationship issues, family issues, cultural issues, and career counseling.
Welcome!! My passion is to help individuals who are dealing with obstacles in their lives or mental health challenges gain insight into thoughts and behaviors that keep us stuck, develop positive coping skills, and learn how to live positive, fulfilling lives. My therapeutic approach is based on using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to teach my clients to identify and learn how thoughts, feelings, and beliefs influence our behaviors. When working with anxiety disorders, I use a combination of CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and mindfulness meditation/relaxation practices to teach my clients how to manage anxiety.

Regardless of what issues you’re dealing with whether it be school, work, friendships, family , romantic relationships or personal, I am here to help navigate you on the path to becoming the happiest and healthiest version of you! I look forward to beginning this journey of self discovery with you.
I’m aware that the idea of therapy can be overwhelming, intimidating and uncomfortable. That’s why I pride myself on creating a safe place for people to be able to discuss whatever issues they are dealing with and remind them that they are not alone in this therapeutic process. I have a passion for working with juvenile adolescents and young adults, especially from Black and Brown communities. I want to revitalize therapy and encourage people to see the true benefits of it. It’s a safe haven where you can explore not only the present but the past and begin to recognize how previous trauma can affect us as we grow older.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
