Ever been called too emotional or dramatic? Ever felt like you needed to be a chameleon to fit in but then felt like you're a people-pleaser? Ever been relied on as the dependable rock for your friends or family? My clients have had all these experiences and want to learn to live out of their true self instead. I help them make and keep boundaries with people in their lives and become less overwhelmed by life’s problems.

I draw from different modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy ( CBT), mindfulness-based practices and solution-focused techniques, to help you discover new insights, learn practical skills and tap into your strengths.
I know how hard it can be to make the decision to seek help. I’ve been grateful to have therapists offer a nonjudgmental space and unconditional encouragement and support through some pretty difficult times. It helped me feel understood and propelled me forward, and it’s what I strive for with every one of my clients. If you're struggling with change, or you're just not sure how to move forward, we'll work together so you leave each session feeling heard, capable and equipped.

I utilize expressive modalities (art, play, somatic movement, mindfulness, music, sandtray) to facilitate healing and growth by moving out of the cognitive and into the subconscious experience.
I support children, adults, and families striving for positive change. In today’s fast-paced world filled with screens, pressures, and responsibilities, I help clients build self-esteem, strengthen social skills, and regulate emotions. I offer individual therapy, family sessions, and parent coaching. I utilize a neurodiversity affirming approach as everyone is welcome in my office. The new year brings about new awareness. January 24th I am offering a Teen Vision Board Workshop to help teens organize their their thoughts and envision their goals for 2026!

I am pretty traditional in my beliefs about the purpose of therapy, but not your traditional therapist.I do not sit with a notebook and write down everything you say with a hmm at the end before I collect my fee.I am interactive and even directive sometimes. I guess that's why I work well with teenagers:) So, if you want therapy to be fun, I'm your gal. My specialty area has been adolescents and addiction for over 30 years, but I see adults too (codependence, divorce, parent alienation) etc. I am also a past President of LPCA, and operate a new virtual business called ProjectEvolve.com. It is an alternative to social media for kids.

You face challenges in your life with the tools you have developed from your past. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the evidence-based modality that is the cornerstone of the work I do with other techniques used as needed.
Have you ever felt as if something were holding you back from becoming your best self? Many people have an area of their lives they wish to improve upon such as gaining more confidence, having more successful personal relationships, feeling more motivated, or exercising control over a habit. Sometimes feelings of depression and anxiety, relationship issues, or substance abuse can get the better of you and make attaining goals difficult. I have 24 years of experience working with clients and seek to form an alliance with you which will help to lessen your symptoms and provide satisfaction in therapy. We will get there together.

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a basis, but add elements from mindfulness, trauma-informed therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy and Gottman Method.
My goal is to actively listen and support you in a safe, non-judgmental environment as you gain confidence in navigating the journey of life. I use evidence based treatments to help you identify and address painful emotions that have become habitual and alter thinking and behavior patterns that are unhealthy. We will work together to replace these patterns and emotions with more accurate and functional ones by developing more positive perspectives and new tools in coping & communication skills.

I draw from CBT, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy to support your growth.
I believe that everyone has the power within themselves to become the best version of themselves, but sometimes they get stuck. My goal is to empower individuals to grow, make positive changes, and embrace those changes with confidence by utilizing their strengths. Growing up in the Indian community, I experienced the stigma surrounding mental health and the lack of support available. I am committed to breaking these barriers and providing compassionate care to people of all backgrounds and cultures.

As a Psychotherapist I understand that human pain, suffering and changes in development can be difficult to navigate alone. Our social system can lack the reinforcement we need to successfully navigate life. It is my belief that therapy can assist with helping to navigate, regroup, and regain our happiness - which is different for each person. I also understand how therapy with the right person can make a major difference in regrouping and regaining happiness. We all deserve happiness and our happiness starts and ends with us. Take the first step toward regaining your happiness - Open Up to the possibilities.

I use person-centered, strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, and integrative approaches to empower you to change your life for the better.
Let’s face it, asking for help can be one of the most difficult things to do. It might seem easier to search online and try to figure things out by yourself. Looking things up online is convenient, but the value of person-to-person communication with a professional who applies evidenced-based care in a safe and supportive setting is irreplaceable. I assist with life challenges such as anxiety/stress, trauma recovery/PTSD, relationship issues, communication issues, conflict management, adjustment issues, spirituality, transitions into new phases of life, and managing mental health symptoms in general.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists
How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?
Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
