I also work with couples and other significant relationships to navigate through the common challenges of effective communication and conflict resolution, to either build or re-build a strong relational foundation and promote relational enrichment.
I enjoy working with a wide range of client populations and the challenges faced by each. When asked "what kind of clients" I see in my practice, my answer is always the same, that "I see normal people with normal problems." My goal is to provide a safe, therapeutic environment where one can share their innermost struggles and challenges without feeling judged or criticized, since it is my philosophy that we are all transforming and evolving from each experience or trial that we face. It is also my passion to empower each client with education, confidence and self-awareness.

I have worked with a myriad of patients dealing with mental health and emotional issues, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, antisocial personality disorder, adjustment issues, relationship issues, parenting, couples/marital therapy.
I understand that there is not one particular mold or pattern that fits every issue or concern, one life does not fit all. I make every attempt to ensure that you are in a comfortable environment free from conviction. I feel that you should be able to come to a safe place to explore every thought that one feels is necessary to assist with resolving issues. You should also not feel judged or condemned for thoughts or actions that have been socially deemed as wrong. What really matters is that you have taken the initiative to receive help sorting what could not be resolved on your own.

Some struggle with addiction, loss, and depression and are afraid to seek out help to manage the disease of addiction as well as loss. Often, we are afraid to reach out for help because we do not want to be embarrassed or judged by others. In the end, you want to be able to see the light and live a life free of the difficulty that you may have.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
