I am a counselor who specializes in helping clients achieve their goals. I received a Master of Science degree in counseling from the University of North Georgia in 200l. I found my passion in 2015 when I made a career change from higher education to mental health counseling. I never thought this would be as fulfilling as it has been. I am also an experienced educator with a twenty-one-year career in higher education. I earned a Ph.D. in Leadership for Higher Education with experience as a dean, academic advisor, financial aid counselor, student leader, and life coach.

In Life we experience so many challenges that it often begins to impact our mental and emotional wellbeing. Sometimes, that impact is hard to recover from and additional help is needed. Total Life Wellness is a private practice located in Gwinnett County. We provide individual, family and group therapy. We work with individuals who have a variety of mental wellness issues such as depression, anxiety, mood and other disorders. We also have a co-occurring wellness program that helps individuals who may be struggling with both mental wellness and substance use. We offer groups for our co-occurring wellness program.

Step one is to close your eyes and take a deep breath. Fantasize for a moment about the greatest possible version of yourself. Is that ideal person confident? Is that person content? Do you see yourself as more energized and ambitious, or more calm and reflective? Are you more available for the people you care about, less likely to feel manipulated or used by those you trust? Step two is to ask yourself one simple question. Is the person in the mirror growing more like the person you envision, or further from who you want to be? My understanding of therapy has never been limited to treating the symptoms of a diagnosis, or crisis.

My psychotherapy practice consists of individual, couple, and group therapy. I work with people wanting to improve their relationships and find more connection with others in their life. The focus in our work is on communication and helping people put into words what they are thinking and feeling so that they are understood and can understand others better. The most common issues people bring are depression, anxiety, health, and work issues. I work with ages ranging from about 18 and older. I have a specialty in group psychotherapy and run ongoing groups that are mixed gender and meet weekly.
