I am LGBTQ+, gender, and kink affirming, and I work from a trauma-informed, sex-positive, and secular lens.
Welcome to the shame-free zone! Sexuality is a powerful and deeply human part of life, but it can often become tangled with trauma, shame, secrecy, confusion, or behaviors that feel out of control. You deserve a safe and nonjudgmental space to heal from trauma, embrace yourself fully, and enjoy a healthy sex life! Many of my clients come to therapy feeling disconnected from their body, conflicted about their desires, or stuck in patterns that no longer align with who they are or who they want to be. Together, we will identify what is driving those patterns, and build healthier, more aligned ways of relating to yourself and others.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where you feel understood and supported as we work together toward growth and healing. I believe that therapy should be collaborative and tailored to your needs, sometimes that means simply having a place to be heard, and other times it means learning practical skills to manage difficult emotions or situations.

You experience worry that is debilitating. You perceive threat that is out of proportion to reality. This is anxiety. Or you have experienced upsetting events in the past that make it difficult or impossible to live fully in the present. This is trauma. You may or may not remember what you experienced, but your body and your behavior are telling the story. Neglect, abuse, sexual assault, toxic shaming, or tragic loss has left you wondering how you can ever fit this experience into the way you think about yourself. You want to feel "normal." I can help.

You’ve learned how to hold it together, but it costs you—constant anxiety, burnout, or the feeling that you’re never quite safe being yourself. If you’re neurodivergent or queer, your trauma may come from years of masking, rejection, or having to stay hyper-alert just to belong. You might feel disconnected from your body, unsure of your needs, or exhausted from trying to fit where you never truly did. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to explain or perform—a space to feel understood, rebuild self-trust, and slowly move out of survival mode into a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and sustainable.

Hi, I’m Gabrielle. I work with thoughtful, motivated, high-functioning adults who may appear successful on the outside while privately struggling with anxiety, emotional exhaustion, perfectionism, shame, people-pleasing, hypervigilance, relationship distress, or the long-term effects of complex trauma. Many of my clients are professionals, leaders, caregivers, and high achievers who are exhausted of simply managing and want to understand the deeper patterns shaping their lives. These patterns and behaviors often come from long term or long ago experiences in their lives, and my clients are ready to explore and make a change.

Many individuals find themselves struggling with how to get through difficult life events. Maybe you find yourself turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms through the use of drugs, alcohol, or relationships. These events may make it difficult to do even to smallest of tasks, like getting out of bed in the morning or eating. Sometimes it may manifest into not wanting to leave the house, and being fearful of social situations. Taking the first step towards therapy is taking the first step towards bettering yourself and the quality of your life. But what separates me from the rest of the therapists that your looking at?

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
