I am available Monday through Thursday for weekly sessions, in person or tele-health when necessary.
Do you feel you're in conflict with yourself or those around you, and you long for a sense of peace? Maybe you find yourself stuck in patterns you wish you could change, wondering why your brightest and best tomorrow always seems just out of reach. Do you feel trapped by invisible barriers that keep you from living fully or from building the relationships you truly want. Many begin to wonder if they are the problem when relationships struggle or the same painful patterns repeat. You might find yourself replaying past regrets or worrying about the future, feeling stuck between what has already happened and what might go wrong next.

Health and Wellness is my ideal client and I work actively with individuals and families to help create a "space" of peace and emotional stability. I think it is important to work collaboratively with clients because I believe they are their "OWN" best expert. My therapeutic orientation is mostly Rogerian and I utilize a non-directive and motivational interviewing approach to assist people in realizing their personal reasons for change. I implement various strategies that are solution focused and techniques associated with Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapy to address mood disorders, behavior problems, and thinking distortions.

I believe in the power of a collaborative therapeutic relationship where both the therapist and client work together towards healing. This involves creating a supportive and trusting environment, where clients feel empowered to take an active role in their own therapy journey. I also believe in the importance of a holistic approach to therapy, addressing not just the mental and emotional aspects but also considering physical, social, spiritual and cultural factors that may impact one's well-being. I synergistically blend my clinical skills and training with humor, play, and creativity to create an environment that is a safe space.

Hi, I’m Dr. Paris, and I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. With over eight years of experience, I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, grief, or simply feeling stuck or emotionally drained. Many of the people I work with are looking for balance, confidence, and a deeper sense of understanding, both of themselves and their relationships. Therapy with me is a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly, process difficult experiences, and learn healthier ways to cope.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
