My counseling style has always been focused on building a strong therapeutic alliance with my client. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My motto is that we all have bad situations in life (death, abuse, divorce, etc.) that we experience in life that can trigger some negative thoughts, emotional feelings, etc., and it is important to respond to these situations in a healthy manner or we tend to stay in that negative space longer than we ever intended.

Humans are susceptible to the stressors of life. From natural disasters to daily hassles, the circumstances that we may find ourselves in unaware may lead to psychological issues that seem unbearable. Humans are relational beings. We need other people and other people need us. We function well inside of healthy relationships. I believe, that every individual, every couple, or every family that receives counseling from a capable counselor can benefit greatly.

As a holistic therapist and life strategist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential through growth in all aspects of your life. While we can't change the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in life. By applying eclectic therapy approaches and techniques, we will discover long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. My approach to healing is holistic; that is, I encourage clients to look at all areas of their lives, (physical, spiritual, emotional, and social) and do my best to assist them toward achieving the balance that I believe can promote long term, overall health. I believe that achieving this balance is an individualized process. My clients appreciate that I offer a ton of support and make them feel safe in therapy, yet don’t shy away from giving direct feedback and ideas, or challenging a thought or belief that might be getting in the way of progress.

Many children who have been labeled emotionally and behaviorally disabled are also children that have experienced some type of trauma in their lives. The research tells us that children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences are more likely to also experience problems in the areas of attachment with caregivers, learning difficulties, lack of self-control, and more. My focus is to help children, adolescents, and young adults who have received behavioral health services in the past but have had little to no success in therapy.
