I am an EMDR trained therapist; I am also trained to incorporate Internal Family Systems in sessions.
Do you find that past experiences are limiting how you view yourself or the ease in which you are able to connect with others? Individuals that have experienced adverse experiences can often feel like they have to “get better” by themself which can feel daunting and oftentimes isolating. If you are looking into therapy, I am guessing you have tried your hardest to work through your unique circumstances without long lasting relief. If you are ready to explore the parts of your story that continue to hold you back with someone who will approach your story with curiosity and compassion, you are in the right place.

” I use EMDR , parts work, and  Ketamine Assisted Therapy to create effective and lasting change.
There are many reasons why you might be seeking therapy at this very moment. It could be because of a major life event- a death, a cancer diagnosis, the end of a relationship, or trauma. It could be because of a lot of small things that have accumulated over time. It could be preventative or restorative. Or it could be just because. You might be therapy-curious, or wonder if you even need therapy. Whatever has brought you to this point, I believe that the most important part of a therapeutic relationship is connection. Our first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and see whether we both feel like it’s the right fit.

I have been trained in multi-dimensional frameworks including psychodynamic theories and narrative therapy, while also receiving specialized training in trauma-informed care, including EMDR .
I have always loved to read a good story, I think stories can reflect wholeness in their beginnings, middles, and ends. It's all too often that we find ourselves in the middle of the story, feeling disconnected from ourselves and unsure if our story will ever have an ending that feels good and whole. I believe that counseling offers a space to "speak the unspeakable" parts of our stories and invite healing into the darkest places. As we create a safe and trusting relationship, I hope to come alongside you and look inward together with compassion and curiosity.

I help individuals heal from painful experiences using brain-based therapies, EMDR and Brainspotting, to recover and engage more positively with life.
Does the shadow of the past still influence how you show up in the world? Maybe you feel weak or crazy because you “can’t get over it”. Your friends and family don’t get it. There are times when things feel okay and life is pretty good but, then not so much. Maybe you find yourself feeling more on edge, are more reactive and emotional, or maybe you just feel not yourself? Your relationships are suffering. You know you are capable of more; personally, professionally, creatively, spiritually. Perhaps you have done therapy before and have some insight but your patterns haven't changed. You don't FEEL different but you'd like to.

Our real journey in this life is interior; it is a matter of growth, deepening, and of an ever greater surrender to the creative action of love and grace in our hearts. Thomas Merton wrote this a half-century ago, but it is still appropriate today. In our practice, we provide a safe, professional and holistic atmosphere, where people are supported in making profound changes and choices in their lives. I work collaboratively with both individuals and couples, using a plethora of techniques, including the Enneagram, dreams, myth, gestalt and EMDR .

When appropriate I will use techniques such as Gestalt therapy, psychomotor, DBT, meditation practice, EMDR , and energy work.
With more than 40 years of experience, I believe that psychotherapy can provide a "safe container," a non-judgmental place, in which clients can confront their issues in complete confidentiality without fear of rejection. There is no blueprint for this process; together we create the path leading to each client's inner wisdom and healing.

I have specialized training in trauma, EMDR , life transitions, grief and loss, and anxiety work.
Life can be hard! Sometimes life deals us a set of circumstances that we aren’t sure how to navigate. Sometimes life is just confusing, and it can be hard to make sense of it all. You may find yourself asking questions like “how did I get here” and “how do I move forward”. There is where counseling could come in as a tool-- one of the biggest benefits of therapy is having a safe place to share how you are really doing and feeling.

I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and use EMDR , mindfulness, Jungian therapy, and psycho-education to help people process trauma and manage anxiety and depression.
Do you sometimes find yourself operating from outdated beliefs and patterns that no longer serve you? Such patterns can hold us back and make life seem futile and meaningless, leaving us feeling drained and defeated. They may stem from traumatic experiences, life transitions, unexpected events, and setbacks. However, we can find new meaning and inspiration in life even after major setbacks or traumas. We can rekindle creativity and purpose through therapy. I help people update their belief systems and functioning so they can live and experience more adaptive and fuller versions of themselves.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
