Thank you for visiting my page! I primarily work with older adolescents, young adults, and adults who are dealing with a variety of personal challenges that may include depression, trauma, stress, anxiety, addiction, family/relationship stress, school/work issues, and navigating life changes. Within social work theories, I gravitate towards the ecological and systems theories, which focus on how one's environment and unique experiences shape individual functioning and adaptation. My social work background helps me to integrate this holistic orientation into my mental health therapy practice.

I draw from many influences, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems, but I focus largely on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, letting client's individual values guide their journey.
As a person of faith who is both queer and polyamorous, I know how hard it can be to find a place where you feel seen. I strive to make my practice an affirming space for people from all walks of life and belief systems.
I believe that strong, reliable therapeutic connection is the most helpful thing I can offer. I try to offer my authentic self, bad jokes and all. As a therapist, I frequently work with people who feel they need some help with their emotions, feel stuck in life, or who wish to have a better understanding of themselves. I am experienced helping people navigate their own sexuality, relationships, or spirituality.

Life can feel overwhelming, especially when past experiences, anxiety, or self-doubt make it hard to move forward. As a warm and grounding therapist (who isn’t afraid to add a little humor when it helps), I create a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. You just need to show up as you are. I help adults, teens, couples, BIPOC clients, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those navigating spiritual or religious trauma reconnect with themselves, find clarity, and build healthier patterns.

Feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or trapped by anxiety? You’ve been holding it all together for everyone else—but deep down, you're running on empty. You might feel stuck in self-doubt, guilt, or perfectionism, wondering when it’ll ever be your turn to just breathe.

I have several speciality areas, mostly centered around trauma - religious trauma (especially with LGBTQ+ folks); family systems, attachment & childhood wounding; and the pain and uncertainty of long-term and terminal illness, grief, loss and end-of-life issues (yourself or loved ones). I also see couples to help with communication issues, and explore how what we've learned in the past shows up in our current relationships. It's all about making meaning, especially for experiences that are painful and hard to move through.

I have extensive training in many evidence based approaches including ACT, EMDR, DBT, CFT, and MSC.
On the outside, you may seem to have it all. But inside? You feel anxious, overwhelmed, or trapped in a cycle of overthinking or self-criticism. You might carry painful memories or experiences that still impact you, even though you’ve tried to push past them and “move on.”
You stay busy, distract yourself, or work harder to cope. But in the quiet moments, the anxiety, shame, or self-doubt returns, leaving you exhausted, defeated, and alone.
You might find yourself wondering, “What’s wrong with me? Why is this so hard?”

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
