I have a strong interest in helping individuals in the midst of life transition and/or turmoil find vision, connection and greater meaning for their lives. Life transitions can range from the dark and difficult times when you are unsure what to do, to the excitement of new opportunities. As a licensed clinical psychologist with a masters degree in theology, I enjoy connecting the personal ways individuals make sense of their lives with the larger body of knowledge achieved through clinical training and the current and evolving knowledge base of the psychology and neuroscience field.

Our professional relationship needs to be a collaborative and connecting experience. Your input and feedback are essential ingredients in getting where you want to go while my job is to understand your goals and needs and observe which methods might work best for you. I am a seasoned, ethical psychologist with 30 years of experience. My clients vary from young adults to elders. Some seek life coaching or a consultation for a specific problem while others are in distress and want major changes. In general my clients describe me as warm and encouraging, with an ability to see patterns, clarify situations and identify alternatives.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. I value helping clients with all aspects of your identity (i.e. race, sexuality, career , faith, social support, etc) and, of course, most mental health diagnoses. If you want to connect relationally, and be the expert on your experience, including your personality, strengths, and value systems, then I can help you. If you need clarification on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, then we can begin to uncover how they are intertwined. As you reframe your thoughts and acknowledge your feelings, then your behaviors can begin to change.

I enjoy working with adult individuals, couples, and groups. I have worked extensively with survivors of trauma and those suffering from PTSD. I also especially welcome those who struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, LGBTQ concerns, stress management, grief and loss, infertility, or career decisions.

Life has many twist and turns. Some, we are able to handle and get back on track, while others make us STOP! It is then that we may encounter various emotions that make us question our purpose, family, marriage/relationships, career choice, spirituality and so much more. Psychotherapy is my second career . I come from a rich background in entrepreneurship and business management which makes me more focused on goal-setting that underpins my action-oriented approach. I work collaboratively with clients to define actionable goals and identify issues (conscious and unconscious) that act as barriers to long term psycho-emotional health. Philosophically, I embrace the idea that individuals often have the answers they seek to difficult questions. The real challenge may be finding the stillness to settle inner conflicts or competing thoughts (expectations, judgments, etc.) long enough to uncover personal truths.
