My clinical expertise includes: assessment for learning disabilities (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, etc), ADHD (child and adult ADHD assessments), and emotional difficulties; and parent training.
Are you concerned your child may have a learning disability like dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia, or perhaps another diagnosis such as Anxiety or ADHD? Has the school suggested testing? Watching your child struggle in school can be heart-wrenching, especially when you've done everything you can to help. You know your child is bright, but their potential isn't shining through. Homework time feels overwhelming, leaving you feeling inadequate. Let's work together to change that. I’m here to support you and your child, helping them thrive and reach their true potential.

I love working with adults, teenagers and families of all kinds. Individuals and families who are navigating the impacts of change, difference in neurotypes, changes in identity, loss, divorce or simply feeling disconnected can get stuck. Seeking support and finding time to dedicate to therapy is a brave first step in determining your course, and I honor you for it. As a queer, cis-woman, I welcome people of all backgrounds in my practice and have experience working with diverse populations including autistic individuals, people with ADD/ ADHD, the LGBTQ+ community and immigrants.

I also enjoy working with individuals from LGBTQIA+, Immigrant & LatinX (hablo Espanol perfectamente bien!) communities & adults with ADHD.
Welcome! Have you decided to take this next step on your journey? That is bold and brave of you, and you don’t have to do it alone! I am passionate about finding ways to work together in a welcoming and safe environment. I want to help you create the most authentic and actualized “you”. Let’s explore challenges you are facing, and forge a path towards creating the changes that you envision. Change can be scary at times, and yet feeling stagnant can often mimic a hostage situation; where we feel trapped in a negative mindset.

As a licensed clinical psychologist (GA) and certified school psychologist (GA) I provide psychoeducation and mental health evaluations to children, adolescents, and adults. I also provide individual therapy to adults for depression, anxiety, grief/loss, mood disorders, stress, and life transitions. I love working with professionals in the throes of their careers as well as parents dealing with the stresses of everyday life including raising children, living with adult children or children with special needs, or dealing with aging parents. My clients desire to improve their circumstances, but do not have the resources to make their goals a reality (yet). They may feel stuck in a limited situation with their careers or family situation but yearn to address what is going on their own terms.

I used to ask myself, "What am I going to do with my life?". Life has a funny way of pointing us in a direction and I followed it. Since 2009, I've been working with individuals, teens, children, families and couples in a variety of work settings. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2007 from Georgia State University then graduated from Argosy University in 2010 with a Master's in Community Counseling.

My practice focuses on psychotherapy, neuropsychological assessment, and educational advocacy. Due to COVID, I am offering tele-assessment for those in high risk groups or w/ family members who are. Issues include: learning problems, employment challenges, relationship struggles, life transitions, developmental disorders, medical illnesses, and stress of being a member of a diverse group (LGBT, ethnic minorities, etc.). I see children/adults who may be unconventional, anxious, depressed or do not fit comfortably within their environment. The label “disability” may be applied to them, but “differently abled” is more accurate.

I am not currently accepting new clients.....Researching therapists can be a daunting task, especially when you're used to tackling life's challenges on your own. Lately, something has shifted. Anxiety has you feeling emotionally drained and overwhelmed. It's time to acknowledge that seeking support for yourself is not only acceptable but necessary. You deserve the time and quiet that therapy provides.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
