I offer motivational coaching for those that are looking to reach their full potential and grow into the person and life they desire.
I am passionate about the work that I do and always see the possibility of health and happiness in others. I have worked with domestic violence victims since 2001 and have expertise in this area. I work with children, adolescents and adults. I partnered with several organizations locally over the years such as the Juvenile Wellness Court, Rape Crisis Center (PARC), and the Child Advocacy Center. I especially enjoy helping adolescents and parents communicate and operate in a healthier way.

Do you feel like life is just one constant struggle and nobody seems willing to listen?
I believe most people have a sense of what is wrong with them, but it is my belief that they need help discovering what is right with them, and that journey is worth taking. I am eclectic in my approach because everybody is different, but I am drawn towards Internal Family Systems, Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, with some other stuff mixed in.

I believe in the possibilities for my clients to discover a second life-of joy, purpose, & renewal they couldn’t imagine at the depths of despair-struggle-change
and never understand how we could have lived or breathed without such soulful medicine. Maybe we will learn to reach out for help, and see that in spite of the memory of darkness and cruelty in this world, there is also such softness and kindness. Maybe we will know in ways that sizzle like magnolia buds in early spring and take us over the way pain used

Or, are you at a point in your life where you are overwhelmed with conflict, hardships, and other stressors?
My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and open environment in which clients can explore the narratives of their lives and become empowered to challenge ideals that keep them stuck in self-defeating patterns of behavior. I provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and family systems.

My focuses include assisting clients struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, fertility issues, life coaching, relationship issues, and life-change crises.
Accepting new clients. Many people are hesitant to seek counseling because they prefer to focus solely on others, even as they suffer in silence. I believe in the concept of helping my clients work through issues that are negatively affecting their functioning and preventing them from being their best selves. I strive to create an environment of support and acceptance in which we can work collaboratively, drawing on their strengths to reduce the impact of those negative core beliefs and thoughts that are holding them back.

Here are a few benefits you will receive working with me: reduce daily stress, relax your body, manage your emotions better, think more clearly, increase self-awareness, feel more empowered and enjoy life more.
There is nothing worse than feeling like your insides are jumping out of your body. Your breathing becomes labored. Your chest tightens as your heart is thumping wildly. You notice your palms sweating. Rapid thoughts are flooding your mind as if they are racing and competing for attention. You wish it would all stop so you could feel okay again.

Life can often be difficult, and overwhelming, and it seems that you will never get through that moment.
I have counseled individuals, couples, children, and families through mental health agencies, treatment facilities, and local schools. My doctorate in Family Counseling with an emphasis on traumatology has prepared me on helping others who have suffered trauma. The two certifications in trauma I hold also provide additional knowledge in this field.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
