Brainspotting etc
My clinical focus is bodily, emotional recovery from trauma, childhood experience, loss, grief, depression and anxiety. I believe in the possibilities for my clients to discover a second life-of joy, purpose, & renewal they couldn’t imagine at the depths of despair-struggle-change. "Maybe we will find a new purpose. Dedicate to an old dream. Maybe we will soften. Meet God. Taste the vast reservoir of our resiliency and strength. Find beauty and meaning in the simple things—like a cup of tea with a loved one while watching a yellow-tinged leaf dance into a puddle. Maybe we will find dancing or painting or writing or art or science

Using a mix of Internal Family Systems, Brainspotting, tapping, and somatic and energy work, we’ll dive deep into the patterns holding you back and create lasting shifts so you can show up fully in your life and work.
Feeling overwhelmed and like you’re carrying too much? If you’re a therapist or a highly sensitive person, you know what it’s like to hold space for others—but who’s holding space for you? Maybe you’ve hit a wall. You’re emotionally drained, questioning yourself, and wondering if it’s even possible to feel grounded and confident. You don’t need another surface-level fix. You need a deep reset. That’s where I come in.
In addition to traditional 60-minute sessions, I specialize in therapy intensives—focused 3-5 hour sessions over 1-3 days—to help you cut through the noise and get to the root of what’s keeping you stuck.

I utilize Brainspotting, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion Focused Therapy to treat traumatic stress and draw from existential and client-centered modalities.
If life has lost its color or if your smile is less than half-hearted, come to my office, and we can explore where all the color and heart went to go hide. Whether escape has been the bottom of a bottle, your bed, or another person, I will support you as we face the emotions and fears that have been chasing you. If you hate the world, your abusers, or yourself, we can rewrite the rest of your story so that it doesn't have to be a tale of despair, but a tale of overcoming. If you feel like some part of you has died, let's bring it back to life.

As a couple and family therapist, I'm passionate about helping people address all types of relational problems. These can look different for different people, but they include anything that negatively impacts you or how you interact with the people in your life. I believe the stories we tell ourselves have a very powerful impact on our lives and how we see the world. Many times, those stories end up holding us back in some way. I guide the therapy process as you change those narratives to be more in line with the life you want to live. My goal is to help people create a life where they feel empowered, courageous, and authentic.

I love using somatic interventions such as Brainspotting, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and yoga therapy.
There is wisdom in acknowledging the present and accepting yourself as you are today without judgement but that is easier said than done. In a world filled with uncertainty and constant change learning to adjust might be harder than before. Therapy is about creating the space to process emotions, release burdens, learn to identify behavioral patterns, set goals, reframe your thoughts, regulate emotions, but ultimately learned to adapt to the inevitable change.

Also, I am Level 3 trained in IFS and Phase 3 trained in Brainspotting (previously certified and a consultant).
I offer focused, short-term therapy for Black women who've mastered managing their people-pleasing but sense there's something deeper needing addressed. You're successful at implementing changes and showing up differently, yet find yourself exhausted from the internal tug-of-war between authenticity and old patterns. Using Internal Family Systems, we'll efficiently move beyond skilled coping to transform what keeps you caught in this dance. This isn't about adding more management strategies - it's about finding genuine ease in being yourself without constant self-monitoring. It's time to make peace with all parts of yourself.

I offer Brainspotting and EMDR for trauma work.
How does safe space, acceptance just as you are, and conversation in which you feel met affect you? Do you find you are better able to say what’s really going on when carefully listened to and believed? Therapy is an opportunity to pause in this busy life to explore what you really think and feel. It is also a chance to explore your strengths, what is working, and what is getting in your way.
Together we will explore the goals and strategies of the different parts of you working (sometimes at cross purposes) to keep you safe.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.
Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.
How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.
How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
