Are you in need of someone to listen to? A place where you can speak out loud your pain without feeling judged, belittled or alone? Do you find yourself at times asking why me or what is wrong with me? Do you find yourself feeling confused, angry, sad, anxious, stuck. Do you get triggered and react in a manner in where you wished you didn't? Do you find yourself alone again with nobody to share your life with? Do you isolate yourself when things don't go right? Do you have past traumas and haven't yet learned how it affects you today? Can't sleep at night? Do you feel you are going out of your mind because your mind does not shut up

Are you familiar with the song performed by Diana Ross from "Mahogany" in 1975, "Do you know where you're going to? Do you know the things that life is showing you - Where are you going to? - Do you know...?" When people struggle and are overwhelmed by challenging events (past or present), confusing feelings, and painful thoughts, it is helpful to have a confidential, objective, experienced guide to sort through all this. Everyone encounters change and loss in love and work. I can accompany you in discovering your unique path towards healing and new meaning.

I feel it is incredibly brave to reach out to a stranger to discuss your feelings and secrets, so I am honored to work with each of my clients. The daily stress and anxiety of life can be overwhelming so learning and practicing coping skills, grounding skills, and mindfulness is an important part of therapy. Adding to your daily stressors, you might have a history of trauma which adds another layer to your struggles. Processing your trauma and taking away its power will lead to an amazing life you never thought possible. I would love to join you on your journey!

Before I became a therapist, I worked in advocacy for survivors of intimate partner abuse for almost 7 years.
Let's be honest - it's hard out here. Existing in this world is heavy, and many of us struggle with anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, and other painful emotions. Unfortunately, most of us experience traumatic events, childhoods, or relationships, leaving us feeling disconnected from our sense of self. Whatever is showing up for you now, I am here to listen, witness your story, and work with you to rebuild your sense of self-worth, self-trust, and safety. Together, we can safely explore and process your experiences and build a toolkit of skills that can help you move forward, set boundaries, and advocate for yourself.

Are you tired of telling yourself, “I’m going to stop,” only to find yourself drinking, using, gambling, or falling back into the same patterns again? Maybe you’re still functioning—you’re working, taking care of everyone else, and handling your responsibilities—but inside, you know something needs to change. You may also be carrying trauma, grief, anxiety, shame, or relationship problems that make it harder to cope without turning back to old behaviors.

Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
