Life is a journey and I believe it is the role of the counselor to walk beside you on the journey when the way is rough. You do not have to face the difficult journey alone. For over 20 years, I have worked in a variety of settings helping individuals and families experience emotional healing. I specialize in working with
women
who are seeking help with managing emotions, the past, and difficult relationships. I work with those of any faith, but for those seeking distinctively Christian counseling, I am experienced in integrating faith into the therapy process.

I help professional
women
assert themselves in the workplace and in their personal lives. There may be a fear of being judged or negatively labeled that keeps you from letting your light shine. When you are not able to be the full expression of yourself, you are often left feeling dissatisfied, disregarded, and overlooked. These feelings easily turn into resentment and can leave you feeling anxious or even depressed.

Expect to take home a since of hope for the future. Inspiration to be all that you are capable of being and a desire to pay it forward to others that you meet. Above all, you should expect a therapeutic environment that is compassionate, empathetic, and safe.

I believe that each
woman
has her own unique journey and therefore I incorporate a holistic , strengths-based and client-centered approach that helps clients feel empowered to take control of their own healing.
Take a deep breath in. Okay, now exhale everything out. This is a safe space for you to relax and just be present in the moment . I get it. Life can be extremely hectic ! And whether it is striving in your professional life , being a support system for others in your interpersonal relationships, or going through a life transition that warrants a lot of time and mental energy ,such as pregnancy and the postpartum period, it can be difficult to take a second for yourself to slow down and just breath .

I help self-motivated young
women
“have it all” while managing the ups and downs of life. To “have it all” means something different for everyone. I help
women
redefine and create their own definition of “having it all” and set and achieve realistic goals. I help
women
build confidence to create their own set of standards for their lives without guilt and shame. We work to dispel beliefs about who you should be and create a narrative of acceptance for who you are presently and who you are becoming.

Society places unrealistic expectations on
women
to be the time keepers, planners, organizers, and happy-makers of the world. The weight of that burden is crushing, causing
women
to ignore their own needs. Not only that, but when they fall short,
women
feel shame, guilt, anxiety, frustration, and inadequacy. I’m a Mental Wellness Coach specializing in helping you overcome emotional and behavioral obstacles. I provide coaching remotely by phone or video conference. Get the help you need in the convenience and privacy of your office or home.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
