I utilize a strength-based and person-centered approach to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and develop practical tools for managing life's challenges. Every person has unique strengths, and my role is to walk alongside each client, supporting them in recognizing and building upon their inner resources. By creating a safe and nonjudgmental space, I strive to ensure my clients feel seen, understood, and empowered. Art therapy serves as a powerful vehicle for expression, allowing us to explore emotions, gain insight, and communicate in ways that words alone may not capture.

My ideal client is a high-functioning, motivated person who looks successful on the outside but feels stalled, pressured, or out of alignment on the inside. They may be an athlete, executive, professional, or driven individual who struggles with anxiety, burnout, performance inconsistency, life transitions, or a quiet sense that something isn’t working anymore. They want clarity, emotional steadiness, and sustained performance—not quick fixes. Their goal is to understand themselves better, remove internal obstacles, and move forward with confidence, discipline, and purpose.

To the outside world, you’re the one who has it all figured out. You’re the high-performer, the visionary, the one who delivers under pressure. But behind the scenes, the drive that built your success has started to feel like a burden. The "hustle" has turned into heavy exhaustion, and the vision that used to fuel you has been replaced by a constant state of overwhelm. You’ve lost the joy in your profession, you're operating on fumes, and you don't know how to get the passion and fulfillment back.

Life can present us with a myriad of challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. You might be grappling with the pressures of high achievement, feeling like you’re never good enough, or struggling to find balance in your personal and professional life. The weight of perfectionism can be exhausting, making it difficult to enjoy the present moment or celebrate your successes. Many individuals face significant transitions—such as becoming a parent, navigating trauma, or dealing with relationship issues—that can lead to feelings of isolation or confusion.

I primarily work with athletes, sports teams, first responders, and other health care providers (nurses, doctors, etc.).
I specialize in working with athletes, health care workers, and first responders. Oftentimes we have a strong identity tied to our work or sport, yet experience acute and chronic trauma associated with extreme lifestyles and obscure scheduling, while still contending with identity conflict, under appreciation, and inadequate self-care. When we define ourselves by our capacity for action, exist in a high-stress and often misunderstood world, and constantly give of ourselves, sometimes we need help.

Is your mind constantly racing? Do you feel overwhelmed by pressure, whether from yourself or others, to always do more, be better, or get it just right? The constant drive to meet high expectations can be incredibly draining, especially when it’s fueled by a relentless inner critic. You might be hitting a block, questioning your abilities, or struggling to find motivation and confidence in areas that once felt natural. Whether you're navigating this in your sport, academics, work, or personal life, therapy can be a space to slow down, quiet the noise, and reconnect with who you are beneath the pressure.

Sports Performance Therapists
How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualization, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
