I began to become oppositional toward authority and was struggling in multiple settings.
Now accepting clients across North Carolina and South Carolina. As a child I was diagnosed with ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and various other labels. None of those labels mattered though, because, we all have the ability to overcome the challenges in our lives and gain personal strength through the therapy process. I hope to be the help others seek. We will work together to identify specific goals and steps that will help you and your family reach greater satisfaction and happiness in life. I will utilize various modalities and theoretical approaches to individualize an approach for you.

Areas of Interest include but not limited to: Anger Management; Oppositional Defiant Disorder; Communication; Parenting; Conduct Disorders; Personal Growth; Depression; Relationship Issues; Grief/Loss; Self-Esteem; Infidelity; Stress Management; Life Transitions; and, Women's Issues.
It is our belief that the decisions we make and the behaviors we exhibit are directly related to what we know as our reality. Knowing and understanding that fact leads us to approach every situation with the mindset that you, as the client, have the ability and power to make positive changes in your life. We know that placing blame, not taking responsibility, and not living up to your potential, only allows others to be in control of your life, leaving you without a voice. It is our philosophy that NOT BEING PRESENT FOR YOU can lead to BOWING DOWN TO OTHERS.

Life is hard enough. Finding a great Therapist need not be. I’m a laid back, easy to relate to person who genuinely enjoys working with people from all backgrounds and all walks of life. My clients (and their families) find me easy to talk to, genuine in my approach and committed to their success. In our work together, I may use a cognitive behavioral model, person centered approach or grounding techniques to assist you in identifying the sources of your stressors and frustrations and guide you through the steps necessary to resolve the issues, not just learn to live with them.

I can help your family if your child is struggling with behavior problems. I have trained for over a year in the evidenced based treatment developed at the Yale Conduct and Parenting Center. The program is a training program for parents to learn to effectively and positively eliminate the negative behavior. At the same time, the child participates in treatment to assist them in dealing with big emotions and problem solving deficits that contribute to behavior problems. Treatment is for children 2-15 years old.

I can help you clarify your goals and help you reach them in a way in which you feel capable, comfortable, and confident.

Oppositional Defiance (ODD) Therapists
All children are oppositional from time to time. But their behavior can become incessantly and openly uncooperative such that it stands out relative to other children. Oppositional Defiant Disorder (or sometimes referred to as "ODD") tends to be evidenced by frequent temper tantrums, excessive arguing with adults, the questioning of rules, active defiance and refusal to comply with adult requests. You may also see deliberate attempts to annoy or upset people, blaming of others, being touchy or easily annoyed by others, frequent anger and resentment, mean and hateful talking when upset, a spiteful attitude and revenge seeking.

These therapists can help with oppositional defiance in Atlanta or provide counseling for parents handling an oppositional defiant kid in Atlanta, oppositional defiant teen or oppositional defiant children in Atlanta.
