I work with individuals, couples, and families across multiple states (via telehealth) who are seeking support for various mental health challenges. Many of my clients have difficulties related to anxiety, depression, and past trauma that get in the way of enjoying life and thriving to their fullest potential. I also work with people who are diagnosed with OCD, schizophrenia/bipolar disorders, and related conditions. The foundation of my therapy is a collaborative relationship based on acceptance. I look beyond the mental health “condition” and seek to understand you as a person, influenced by your identities and past experiences.

Life is short. If your life doesn't look the way you want, NOW is the time to change. For almost two decades, I have helped clients bring their lives into line with their goals. Being a therapist isn't just about giving a listening ear. It's knowing what to listen for and what to do with that information. It's understanding how the mind, body and soul work together and how we get stuck at certain points. Therapy is focusing that knowledge to create change. Change is a skill and therapy is the place you learn it.

Psychological Testing & Evaluation Specialist - Are you or your child struggling to reach full potential? You may be experiencing difficulties with focus, learning, or mood that haven't improved with standard support. You aren't looking for a checklist approach; you want a rigorous "deep dive" to understand exactly how your brain works. Whether you are a parent investigating a learning difference, or an adult wondering if undiagnosed ADHD or Autism is the root of your challenges, you need a provider who can offer an objective, clinical answer.

In my 30s, I found myself lost, struggling with addiction and mental health issues, and watching my life fall apart. What began as a journey to face my own challenges eventually became something greater—I discovered the deepest joy came from helping others overcome theirs. It’s been more than 25 years since I first entered treatment, and in that time, I’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of people who were just like I once was—broken, searching, and in need of guidance. My hope is that I can offer that same support and guidance to you.

I believe therapy helps us understand the power of the mind. This is especially useful when we feel disconnected, marginalized, or stigmatized. When we feel this way, learning how the mind channels this information through thoughts, feelings, emotions, and perceptions, can influence us to recognize our own cognitive processes and how they impact our life. If we attend to our cognitive processes in a healthy way, it may lead to regulation of mood, clarity, balance and feelings of peace. We start to evolve and accept certain things about ourselves. We begin to feel at peace from within. I help my clients through this process.

Searching for the right therapist is not only difficult, it’s redundant. So let me make this easy for you. My own life experiences have led me to work passionately with young LGBTQ+ and straight adults experiencing life transitions issues, anxiety, depression, grief, or ADHD. I am known for my direct and honest communication style — all in the comfort of couch cushions. I work to create a safe space by first focusing on building trust within the therapeutic relationship all while building self care routines and mental wellness skills. I welcome humor, “real talk” and (appropriate) self-disclosure is my jam.

Are you a new dad who feels more alone, overwhelmed, or misunderstood than you ever expected to feel—despite doing everything you’re “supposed” to do? Many new fathers are quietly struggling with isolation, motivation, and the pressure to hold it all together while their lives fundamentally change. You may be more involved with your child than previous generations of dads, yet feel unsure how to balance work expectations, family needs, and your own mental health. If you’re feeling stretched thin, disconnected from yourself, or like you’re constantly falling behind, you’re not broken—you just need support!

Male Therapists

As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?

There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?

Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?

Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?

Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
