I often hear this: "I've worked so hard my whole life, I've done everything I was supposed to, but I can't make my body get pregnant." So many of us have achieved tremendously throughout our lives only to be sidelined by infertility. Working hard doesn't make our bodies do what we need them to do. This is the stuff of trauma. Yet, somehow we tell ourselves yes, of course we should be able to push through multiple cycles, retrievals, transfers, and waiting. So much waiting. Why wouldn't this be hard?

Many in today's world feel disconnected. You may feel disconnected from yourself, from those you love and even perhaps from a sense of any greater purpose in your life. What I love to do is help individuals, and families reconnect and hopefully come into a greater fullness of life.

My professional strength is knowing how to help people calm down and regain focus in one of three ways:(1) counseling-helping someone get through difficult life issues such as the death of a loved one; (2) psychotherapy-which involves real change and requires a long-term commitment to healing open wounds; and (3) consultation-providing advice on a single issue or event where professional consultation could be helpful. Everyone has a story to tell and I am here to listen, to help and to heal. It is my unwavering belief that no matter what the situation is, our problems are never bigger than life.

Therapy is a worthy and courageous investment in your self. We all deserve support & a safe place to be seen, heard & heal. I have over 10 years of experience working with people who are dealing with trauma, childhood/family issues, anxiety, sadness, pain, life changes & relationship stress. As humans, we are complex & often what feels like it should be a “simple fix” can be frustratingly difficult to change. In therapy, you can understand with compassion what is getting in your way and make the changes you want to in a way that feels doable, supported and real.

Trauma, life stress, and emotional difficulties can cause persons to encounter challenges at home, work, and school. Some experiences are routine, although sometimes events create less positive outcomes in family/peer relationships or school/work performance. Persons can feel overly worried or hopeless; engage in damaging behaviors; or face changes to socializing, eating, or sleeping habits. If you are experiencing challenges, I can help you help you modify old patterns using various modalities.

Wherever you have been, however you have arrived, I’m really glad you are here. To me, therapy is about taking time and space to listen to our bodies and emotions, with the hope of allowing us to reconnect with our inherent wisdom. We don't lose touch with this wisdom by accident. Trauma, unhealed wounds, and oppression separate us from our wisdom and intuition, and impact our ability to access all parts of ourselves. You and your body carry so much, from the grief and resilience of those who came before you, to the stress of everyday life. You were never meant to carry it all on your own.

Each of us have a story--a personal history filled with experiences that inform how we relate to the world, ourselves, and others. Often aspects of our history cause us to feel unhappy, anxious, or simply stuck. Whether you struggle with an eating disorder, intense fear, or simply wish to improve your relationships, my role as a therapist is to help you learn new ways of being in the context of a safe therapeutic relationship.

Life can be difficult for us all, but does it seem tougher on you at times? Maybe there actually IS something making life more challenging. Do you sometimes have feelings of guilt, shame, hopelessness, or panic, but can't identify the causes of these? Do you suffer from sleep problems, low energy, stomach issues, or muscle tension that you can't explain? Do you have trouble concentrating or have racing thoughts that are impossible to control? These are just some of the ways that anxiety and depression affects us. Add in daily stress or unresolved trauma and it can become challenging or even impossible to cope with daily life.

Maybe you've tried to "fix" it yourself, but I'm glad you're reaching out and I'm here to help. We can work together to help you to get through your challenges and achieve your goals.

I believe therapy works best when the therapist and client work together to identify, understand, and work through the issues in their lives. I believe in partnering with my clients to assist them in understanding their emotions and behaviors. I studied at Brenau University and am have been a therapist for over 6 years. I am passionate about working with adolescents, teenagers, and young adults, especially in the LGBTQ+ population. I am trained in cognitive behavioral techniques, and I like to use creative interventions in addition to open dialogues in session to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all of my clients.
