I also utilize Expressive Arts, Family Systems , Strength-Based, and CBT.
I work primarily with children, teens, and young adults experiencing stress and anxiety, executive functioning deficits, identity confusion, mood disorders, grief and loss, and life adjustment challenges (i.e. separation/divorce). By providing a safe, non-judgmental environment, clients can effectively express, explore, and process their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe every client is equipped with a unique set of strengths and skills that can help them overcome adversity. By helping clients rework negative perceptions of events in their lives or of themselves, clients can move to a more regulated state.

I am trained in the use of EMDR, Internal Family Systems ( IFS ), Somatic Experiencing (SE), SSP (Safe & Sound Protocol), PVT and attachment work.
The decision to begin (or deepen) therapy is a big one. I imagine you’ve attempted to manage a lot of things as best as you possibly could and that led you here. I’m so happy you’re here. I help clients navigate life when there’s been a few (or many) wrong turns and bumps in the road. I am skilled at working with all parts of a client when they have a history of trauma (knowingly or not). This often takes the form of eating disorders, anxiety, emotional overwhelm or dysregulation, dissociation, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, or substance use.

I use Internal Family Systems to help you find compassion for yourself.
How does safe space, acceptance just as you are, and conversation in which you feel met affect you? Do you find you are better able to say what’s really going on when carefully listened to? I believe therapy is an opportunity to pause in the rushed life we usually live to explore what we really think and feel. It is also a chance to explore your strengths, what is working, and what is getting in your way. Together we seek to hear your inner wisdom - your Self - speak more and more distinctly. I am here to offer you a grounded, secure presence for the work you have come to do.

Accepting new clients. I believe therapy is a collaborative process between the two of us. Our work together will help you live a meaningful and purposeful life, feel safe in your body, understand your behavioral and attachment patterns, and heal from relational trauma. Our earliest relationships (with caretakers) inform the way we respond to situations past and present. As adults, we may notice some of these patterns are more harmful than helpful. Through this framework, I incorporate acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), internal family systems ( IFS ), and body-based approaches into our work together.

I offer different types of therapeutic avenues to explore, rework, release and address challenges old or new. We decide the timetable and scope of therapy together whether very focused change is desired or more in depth reworking is wanted. Some people also use therapy to maintain positive gains and have a unique place to speak/ find the truth in a safe, trusting environment. The focus is on enhancing and building on strengths to realize potential based on needs. I use brainspotting, polyvagal informed therapy (Unyte/ILS listening system) and IFS (Internal Family Systems ) to deeply and often more rapidly release blocked/frozen issues

Trained in Internal Family Systems therapy ( IFS , or parts work therapy), I have a deep appreciation for the complexity of your whole being.
It takes courage to break the silence that keeps our deepest suffering hidden away. Maybe you are able to disguise your pain, pretending everything is fine, while you struggle internally to feel okay about yourself. Maybe some of your negative beliefs and feelings about yourself have been with you most of your life. I will meet all the different parts of you with compassion and curiosity. Our stories deserve to be heard, and our feelings validated. If you desire to be more connected to yourself and others, and liberated from old wounds you carry inside, I would be honored to assist you on the journey.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
