I work with adults and couples impacted by childhood trauma, intrusive thoughts, anxiety and panic, relationship issues, codependency, identity confusion, low self esteem, and grief / loss .
During the course of our lives we experience many joys and hardships, and along with them the full range of human emotions. Each moment and feeling is an opportunity to better understand self, other, and the world. Your painful feelings may be signals that old wounds need to be acknowledged or that your truth is not being lived fully. If you are currently struggling to cope with life challenges, feeling unfulfilled or seeking personal growth, the therapeutic relationship can provide an open and nonjudgmental atmosphere to explore the body and mind in a safe, comfortable space.

I deeply believe that each individual has the strength and resilience to make the changes to live the life they desire. Stress and trauma can distance us from our core selves, resulting in depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. My hope is to create space for clients to slow down, reflect, and heal. I work with those who are interested in gaining personal insight, integrating learnings, and reconnecting with their confidence and goodness. I would love to connect with you, especially if you are dealing with grief (medical diagnosis, loss , unmet expectations), maternal mental health issues (fertility, relationship), or trauma.

The relationship with the self supports all other relationships in our lives. From this understanding, my work with clients centers around exploring and strengthening the foundational relationship with the self, to include: identity formation and development, building healthy relationships with others from a place of self-worth, life stage transitions, spiritual concerns, and grief and loss . I seek to support my clients in bringing their lives into greater alignment with their personal values, so that they may feel more at home within themselves and more empowered to express themselves authentically.

Sometimes the decision to engage in psychotherapy can be daunting and overwhelming. You may have been contemplating the idea of beginning therapy for some time or it may be that an experience or something in your life has triggered the decision to begin seeking support and/or a change. Many people begin therapy because they are experiencing sadness, depression, anxiety, grief / loss or can't articulate the reason but know something is different and they just don't feel "right". Old coping mechanisms aren't as effective and/or you seek a different unbiased perspective.

My main counseling specialty is grief and loss .
Are you facing the loss of someone you love? Maybe it’s not immediately in front of you, but you know it’s coming. And it's scary. You’re juggling caregiving, and feeling anxious. Your friends or family try to be supportive, but they just don’t get it. You want to feel prepared, but don’t know how? Or maybe you’ve already lost someone you love- a family member, a friend, a partner, a pet? Are you struggling to find your new path forward without them? To find new meaning? Overwhelmed at just trying to pick up the pieces? Maybe you just received a cancer diagnosis, or genetic test result? You’re feeling lost, scared, and alone.

I enjoy working with individuals and couples who struggle with anxiety, depression, difficult life transitions, relationship issues, grief , and spiritual trauma.
As a therapist, one of the first and most important messages I hope to communicate about my professional work is that I feel honored each and every time I have the privilege to sit with clients in their pursuit towards growth. My work is grounded in the belief that clients are the experts on their own lives, and my role is to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship to help facilitate change and empower them to live fully.

I frequently work with anxiety, depression, dating/singleness, grief , and self esteem.
Have you found yourself feeling stuck or discouraged lately? Some of the struggles I hear about include self-doubt, boundaries, and life transitions. Others are dealing with toxic relationships, family, or work environments. People usually come to therapy because they're experiencing pain in one form or another. I've worked with clients of all ages and with a variety of issues, but the thing most of them have in common is that they all need someone in their lives to remind them that they matter. Everyone needs a sounding board, a place they can process without fear of judgment. I would love to provide that space for you.

I know finding a therapist can be challenging with all these options, but I’m glad that you pushed through and made it here. Life can be difficult to navigate at times causing us to become overwhelmed. I would be honored to work with you to reduce or defeat anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, poor body image, disordered eating habits or trauma. I would also be honored to support, listen, and witness your pain on your grief journey. As someone who has gone through the journey myself and was reluctant to really feel it, I know how important it is to allow yourself to grieve. I look forward to meeting you and moving forward in peace.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
