I am a Marital and Family Therapist and I have been working with individuals, couples, and families for over 25 years. I believe in the worth and value of all humans and support their desire to have joy, fulfillment, creativity, and to have control of their destiny. I recognize that some experiences negatively impact our ability to access our internal and external resources to cope with what life throws at us, and so, we find ourselves needing the support of one who is trained and skilled to assist us on that journey toward growth, healing, and change.

You may be a person who has done some inner work-traditional talk therapy, self-reflection, maybe years of trying to understand yourself. And still, something feels stuck: anxiety that won’t fully resolve, a sense of disconnection, patterns that keep repeating. You’re ready for something different. Body-centered therapy like Somatic Experiencing is about building the capacity to be with yourself in new ways, so that real change can emerge from the inside out.

In relationships, experiencing mistreatment, neglect, invalidation, rejection, or abandonment can lead to a profound sense of disconnection from ourselves and others. This detachment often leads us to mistakenly identify with this sense of disconnection, causing immense pain and making it challenging to be present with our own emotions. Such experiences can trigger a state of imbalance, characterized by anxiety, or a 'freeze' response accompanied by symptoms similar to depression. These are the effects of trauma—an emotional response to distressing events that leave us feeling powerless.

My work with clients is collaborative. By identifying goals, highlighting strengths and resources and clarifying meaning and purpose for our lives we can regain peace, make healthy choices, and develop healthy thinking. In addition to traditional "talk" therapies I offer EMDR where indicated. ( One of three evidence based therapies recognized by WHO,US DOD/VA and other world health organizations.) My office is a calm, safe place to assess needs, explore options, develop a therapeutic protocol, set goals, focus on strengths and regain balance. My goal as a therapist is to support you in becoming the best version of yourself. I believe our past experiences shape the way we see the world, but sometimes the beliefs or lessons we carry forward are no longer helpful in the present. When we hold on to these outdated patterns, it can leave us feeling stuck in unhelpful thoughts, unresolved challenges, and overwhelming emotions. I find it deeply rewarding to walk alongside clients as they discover new perspectives, break free from old patterns, and experience real, lasting change.

I offer a trauma-informed, person-centered approach using evidence-based methods like CBT, gestalt, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.
I work with adolescents (12+) and young adult women who are struggling with perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-esteem challenges, anxiety, and relational difficulties. Many are gifted and over achieving individuals. They are often adjusting to major life transitions such as relationship changes, switching schools, and/or changing jobs. Together, we will explore how these experiences impact your sense of self and help you build confidence, set boundaries, and find balance in the midst of change.

I’m Dr. Brandon, a therapist practicing in the State of Georgia. My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices, designed to help you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that may be impacting your mental health. But therapy is very dynamic and doesn't have to be all serious! As someone who loves to laugh and believes in the healing power of humor, I also incorporate a healthy dose of levity into my sessions. In fact, research has shown that laughter can boost mood, reduce stress, and strengthen our immune systems.
