Many of the clients I support grew up as emotional caregivers within their families, learning to stay attuned to others while disconnecting from their own needs. Others come to therapy with histories of complex or developmental trauma and may experience anxiety, emotional numbness, dissociation, or a sense of being fragmented or at odds within themselves. These responses are not signs of something being “wrong,” but intelligent adaptations to less than supportive, overwhelming, or unsafe environments.

Maybe you feel stuck in patterns that don’t make sense—overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, withdrawn. Maybe you feel weighed down by anxiety, shame, or a harsh inner critic. Sleep might be difficult. Perhaps you're overwhelmed by intrusive memories, emotional numbness, or just a persistent sense of not feeling like yourself. Even if life looks “fine” on the outside, something inside feels off. Whatever the case, you're longing for a safe, nonjudgmental space to feel seen, understood, accepted, and ultimately to find relief.

When anxiety, OCD, or trauma take up too much mental space, it can be hard to feel like yourself. You may feel stuck in intrusive thoughts, overthinking, fear, or patterns that leave you overwhelmed, disconnected, or on edge. My goal is to help you feel less stuck and more like yourself again. I work with adults navigating OCD, anxiety, and trauma. Many of the people I support have experienced abuse, relationship or sexual violence, religious trauma, or the effects of discrimination related to race, neurodiversity, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Aiming to thrive and not solely survive? Despite our adverse experiences or current circumstances, we can find ourselves wanting to find more meaning in life. I help clients slow down to closely examine the obstacles that are interfering with their ability to live the life they envision. My approach to counseling is to learn to love yourself as you are while working on your areas of growth. We are all worthy of self-love and self-compassion, but all too often this is absent in our lives. My hope is that through this process you find your true self and are courageous enough to embrace and live out your most authentic life!

As I write this, I am astonished to say that I am coming up on a decade of being a therapist. I am so very passionate about helping people address their experiences, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be holding them back from becoming the best version of themselves. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Psychology at DePaul University, and I still recommend books I've read from courses that I took back then. I then moved to the East Coast to obtain my Master's in Counseling, Mental Health & Wellness from New York University. Please allow me to assist you on your path of growth.

Through my own lived experiences and passion for understanding people, I have learned the value of empathy and acceptance in the healing process. I specialize in working with older elementary schoolers (4th and 5th grades) and middle schoolers, young adults and adults. My experience has focused around navigating challenging relationships, life transitions, complex trauma, eating disorders, health anxiety, OCD, ADHD and borderline personality disorder. I use an integrative, client-centered approach in my work to best support each client. I find myself working well with those who tend to intellectualize their problems!

You can be highly self-aware and simultaneously stuck in the same patterns. Most of my clients find me when they know everything about their life history - what went wrong, what went right, and everything in between - but still feel as though they cannot change. This experience can be beyond annoying and confusing as we are often taught that understanding produces healing. Where do we go when insight isn't enough? My clinical speciality is getting people "un-stuck" and finally moving towards a life that feels congruent with who they know they can be. Let's work together to get you out of your loops and onto a new path.
