I integrate person centered approach with my training in EMDR, biofeedback, and Gottman therapy for couples.
The pain you are feeling and thinking is not your fault and it is not a sign of weakness. You do not have to suffer. There is help AND there is hope. Our first hour together is free and you have time to ask questions, to see if you feel safe and comfortable working together. If this is your first time and you are a bit hesitant (as I was), or you feel therapy did not work before, I am here and happy to sit with you and answer your questions and help you find some peace.

I offer EMDR along with emotion-focused therapy and parts work to help process the pain causing these issues.
As a healthcare provider with 14 years of experience, my current focus is trauma recovery with adults. The clients I work with are often experiencing issues such as anxiety, hypervigilance, perfectionism, difficulty sleeping, intrusive memories, emotional numbness, low self-esteem, and shame, among others, and are looking to make sense of it all and, ultimately, to find relief. As a trauma-informed clinician and also someone with a history of lived trauma experience, I approach this work with deep understanding, care, and respect.

Various trauma and addiction recovery trainings and certifications, EMDR, E-RTY 200 Yoga Instructor, Prepare/Enrich premarital facilitator
I deeply believe that each individual has the strength and resilience to make the changes to live the life they desire. Stress and trauma can distance us from our core selves, resulting in depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. My hope is to create space for clients to slow down, reflect, and heal. I work with those who are interested in gaining personal insight, integrating learnings, and reconnecting with their confidence and goodness. I would love to connect with you, especially if you are dealing with grief (medical diagnosis, loss, unmet expectations), maternal mental health issues (fertility, relationship), or trauma.

You’re overwhelmed with expectations and responsibilities. Though you appear to “have it all together,” that doesn’t match how you feel. Having others rely on you is a great compliment, but it also brings heavy pressure. You desperately want change but are afraid of what others will think, if you will be judged or if you will lose relationships. Who will you be if you are different from who you are now? There’s only one answer…YOURSELF; the person you truly are. Learn to set boundaries, invest in your self-awareness, and live by your values. Learn how to take care of yourself & still take care of your responsibilities. (Yes you can)

I draw from different approaches—like EMDR, DBT, CBT, and person-centered therapy—depending on what you need.
I help teens and adults who are tired of feeling anxious, stuck, or weighed down by past experiences that still affect them today. If you’re someone who’s been through something painful—whether it was a single event or a series of experiences that made you feel unsafe, unseen, or not good enough—you might still be carrying that weight. Maybe you find yourself overthinking everything, constantly doubting yourself, or struggling to feel calm in your own body. You might look like you’re doing fine on the outside, but inside, it feels like chaos.

My work is trauma-informed and attachment-focused, integrating EMDR, IFS, and somatic experiencing approaches to support nervous system regulation, internal safety, and meaningful change at a pace that honors your capacity.
Many of the clients I support grew up as emotional caregivers within their families, learning to stay attuned to others while disconnecting from their own needs. Others come to therapy with histories of complex or developmental trauma and may experience anxiety, emotional numbness, dissociation, or a sense of being fragmented or at odds within themselves. These responses are not signs of something being “wrong,” but intelligent adaptations to less than supportive, overwhelming, or unsafe environments.

I integrate a Person-Centered approach with EMDR, CBT, IFS for effective, individualized care.
Caring for one’s mental health is an ongoing process. As we navigate life’s challenges and work toward our goals, new obstacles arise. Trauma and recovery are key aspects of this journey, and building meaningful relationships is vital to healing. Self-awareness and balance help us realize we already possess the tools to lead a fulfilling life. When life gets hectic, it’s important to return to the basics, reframe our thinking, and appreciate the process. I earned my MSW from the University of Georgia and am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I am dedicated and passionate about supporting others on their healing journey.

As a trauma-informed therapist trained in EMDR, I specialize in helping adults process the experiences that shaped them, especially the ones that still feel stuck in the body & mind.
You're functioning, but not thriving. You may look like you’re holding it all together, but under the surface, you’re anxious, exhausted, or carrying unresolved pain. Maybe it’s old family wounds, a past experience that still lingers, or emotional patterns that feel hard to break. If you're ready to stop surviving and start healing, you're in the right place.

It does not always have the be the way it feels now. Your thoughts might feel like they are racing on a hamster wheel. You might have been told you were too much. Emotions might feel really overwhelming. Your body could feel tense or other people don't feel safe. Perhaps you wish the speeding heart, pit in your stomach, or sweaty palms could show up half as often as they do now? Or maybe it just feels really scary to talk about yourself or receive support. I’ll join you where you are and together we will explore awareness of your thoughts, emotions, body, and reactions at a pace that’s supportive for you.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
