I help people eliminate phobias, unnecessary physical pain and release
anxiety
. I do this by communicating with the subconscious mind. The conscious mind does not cause
panic
or any other emotion. People can’t talk their way out of
panic
attack, pain or
anxiety
. My interest in the power of the subconscious mind began as a 16-year-old troubled kid. I ran away from home and almost dropped out of school but fortunately I came across a book on the power of the subconscious mind. It changed my life. I managed to finish high school (barely) and continued to college where I majored in Psychology.

Having
anxiety
is really difficult. Trouble focusing at work makes it even worse. Maybe pressure, boredom and worry leave you feeling ashamed and guilty, and you don't know why. You might get impatient, impulsive or just plain overwhelmed. But there's hope. You CAN regain that fearless, creative mindset you used to have. You can point your life's energy back toward the good and important things in your life. You can learn to roll with the punches life throws, to laugh at life's absurdity, and then take back control.

I work with children and adolescents who have issues with
anxiety
and depression.
As a child and adolescent therapist, I acknowledge the joys and the challenges we as parents often experience. By working with children and their parents as a family system, there is an increase in the overall efficacy of treatment. Often, many of our struggles as a family stem from our ability to fully understand each others' experiences and view points. Learning to communicate more effectively, regulate emotions, and be more mindful in our every day lives can drastically improve our personal and familial experiences.

Although eating disorders are my primary area of expertise, have extensive experience and interest addressing such issues as
anxiety
, depression, trauma, OCD, family of origin issues, and personality disorders.
Working from a person-centered perspective, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important components for change. I offer an empathic space to explore your goals toward recovery. I use a variety of theoretical approaches, including CBT, existential, and interpersonal therapies. Specializing in eating disorders, I begin the therapeutic relationship by meeting clients where they are in the recovery process. I understand that the development of an eating disorder is complex, and that there is no "one size fits all" approach to treatment. I can help you learn positive coping skills and address body image, identity, and self-esteem issues.

anxiety
, OCD, mood dysregulation, behavioral difficulties, ADHD, family conflict, school performance issues, and social difficulties, such as peer conflict, bullying, and poor social skills. It's too much! Being everything to everyone...even when you don't want to... is weighing you down. If you don't do it, it won't get done. Expressing feelings and asking for help is out of the question. You don't want to be a burden, perceived as weak, or judged. The stress and
anxiety
are becoming too much and now its time to get it out before you implode (because exploding is not an option). The worries & extra expectations need to go. You need some relief. Let's start by giving yourself the compassion you give others. You deserve an outlet.

I am honored to help individuals struggling with
fears
and challenges that hinder their growth and exploration of life. My commitment to reach those who are experiencing great sadness and a lack of motivation in their lives helps me to understand my clients' alienation and pain. I take it as my duty to foster a relationship with those in need and reach them on their level. With couples, I use emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to help clients change their negative patterns and move to a new music where they yearn to support each other.

Anxiety Therapists
What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
