I have primarily worked with adolescents and adults coping with Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, and family members impacted by a loved ones addiction. In life we may have experiences where we did not cope effectively and those memories just stick with us. Along with those memories are negative ideas about the self and uncomfortable emotions. Through the use of EMDR and trauma focused approaches, this "old stuff" can be resolved to create a healing lasting change.

My focus is on helping your child understand and express their emotions while providing them with the tools they need to thrive. With a strength-based framework, I strongly believe understanding my clients – their strengths, interests, needs, and learning styles. Jim is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Science Education, a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, and a Specialist Degree in Professional School Counseling, all from the University of Georgia. He has also completed the necessary coursework to become a BCBA (board certified behavior analyst), and is completing his supervision hours as part of the certification process. Jim has experience in the K-12 field of public education, post-secondary education, as well as the field of mental health.
