Everyone experiences wounds in life, be it loss, illness, abuse, a difficult relationship, neglect, or any other overwhelming issue. Sometimes even experiences that "should" bring joy like graduating, starting a new job, marriage, or having children can render us feeling like we are in crisis - or stuck. I work with clients to help them get unstuck from feelings of anxiety, depression, and emotional reactivity. When we can identify the patterns that keep us in pain, we can begin to develop new ways to cope and manage the stress of our lives.

I’m drawn to working with young adults, women, and individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, recent or past trauma, PTSD, and relationship issues.

Brianna believes we all have an innate wisdom inside of us that’s always there & that we enter this world w/ more access to it than ever before. She also believes that we enter this world w/ unique parts that make up our complete whole - our psyche. These parts can be wonderfully unique & terrific attributes of our personality - our strengths. However, trauma can drive these parts of ourselves into extreme roles. Despite meaning well, they can create emotional & behavioral patterns that are seen as bad, shameful, or unwanted by those closest to us - leaving survivors feeling deeply broken, unworthy, & unfamiliar on a cellular level.

Before you go any further and read anything else, I want you to give yourself a pat on the back for making it here! Whether you got here on your own or with someone’s help, consider it progress because you cared enough to try. You are probably here because you realized that it is time for things to change. As your therapist I am not here to fix it. The fear, the anxiety, the depression, the pain that you feel is not uncommon. My role is to help you heal. Together we can work on reaching your full potential and reconnecting you to the person you know yourself to be.

In therapy, I strive to be direct without sacrificing compassion. It can be difficult to ask for help, and you deserve a space in which you can feel both supported & understood while being empowered to change your life. I am most passionate about working with people experiencing anxiety, those who are exploring their identity, and survivors of trauma of all kinds (including grief & loss, sexual assault, & family conflict). I also enjoy working with those seeking to improve their self-esteem and have experience treating disordered eating concerns including binging, purging, and body-image issues.

You are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. You're going through your day with the constant fear of not being a good enough mom, partner, employee. You feel lost and overwhelmed as you fight to present yourself as someone who has it "all together." Your friends and family don't know how alone you feel because you don't want to be a burden to them. The ghosts of your past torment you, reminding you constantly that if you had been good enough to begin with then you wouldn't have been hurt so badly. It's all your fault, your mind is racing, and you don't know how to make it stop.

Life can be filled with a lot of difficulty but it doesn’t need to be so overwhelming or confusing! If you feel numb, overwhelmed, or sad for no reason, then you are not alone. Finding relief and peace in these struggles is possible through therapy. As a therapist I believe in being a friend and a guide by providing tools to improve mental health, coping skills, opportunities to process emotions/events, and even space for venting if needed. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and work primarily with adolescents and young adults who have/had experienced depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, sexual abuse, grief, and religious trauma.

I’m a person in long term recovery. What that means to me is that I have been substance free since July 13th, 2016. My previous battles with depression, anxiety, and self-medicating turned substance use disorder gave me a perspective that has motivated a purpose within the counseling field. I believe the you must own your story, otherwise your story will own you. We will own it by looking at your past and reframing it into a more positivist perspective. The therapeutic relationship is a priority and ideally, we will become a collaborative team.
