Life can often feel messy and chaotic. My passion is to help bring order out of chaos to facilitate growth and peace. Many of my clients present with concerns related to anxiety, depression,
relationship
issues, stressful life transitions and circumstances, perinatal mental health concerns, or they report feeling a little “off” and are seeking help to feel more like themselves again. I work best with clients who are engaged and motivated to see changes in their lives, and I have a great love for coming alongside people to help them move towards becoming the best version of themselves.

couples
working through conflict and looking for improved communication, creating a healthy self-
relationship
, adjusting to life as a new parent, pre-marriage counseling, trauma and post-traumatic stress, and spiritual/faith challenges and traumas.
People often come to counseling feeling stressed, overwhelmed, worried, depressed, and sometimes unsure of where to turn next. My goal is to create a relaxed, comfortable, “come as you are” space that is free of judgment to talk through whatever obstacles are impacting your life. My approach is client-centered and focuses on relationships in order to empower you to take steps toward the healing and growth that you desire. I trust you to be the expert in your life as we walk together toward achieving your goals. In my work, I use a blend of techniques from IFS, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness to best meet your needs.

Thanks for checking out my profile! The past few years have made all of us think more about who and what is important to us and how we want to live our lives. Perhaps you are facing a major life transition, struggling to feel connected in your
relationship
, or need help figuring out how to deal with an increasingly tough world. You might be overwhelmed by difficult thoughts, feelings or situations. You’ve tried everything you, your family or friends think will make things better, but it’s just not working. You are stuck and need help with getting unstuck.

My work with individuals,
couples
and in transformative workshops is to guide and support clients in reaching their goals through self-awareness, analysis, goal setting and strategies for life change. Those who come to me for guidance and support need to be heard, really listened to and understood. Sorting out the deeply seated issues that have gotten in the way of achieving peace and satisfaction in daily living takes great courage of which I am honored to be witness. My education has given me the data I need but my best teacher has been life....79 years of it.

My experience includes working with individuals in therapy addressing
relationship
concerns, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and assertiveness skills.
I am a clinical social worker who provides individual therapy for adults. As a therapist my role is to provide a non-judgmental, safe environment for individuals to explore their life issues and support them in their personal growth. I find that a lot of us struggle with listening to our inner critic and often beat ourselves up for past regrets, as well as spending a lot of valuable time worrying about the past and the "what if's" in the future. I hope we can work together to quiet this critic and find a way to enjoy the present.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
