Therapeutic fit is typically the most important factor for therapy success. So instead of going for any hooks or marketing gimmicks, I’ll describe myself and my style. I’m from Georgia, been in recovery for 10 years, an avid reader and sports watcher, a new dad, and have an awesome dog (see my website for proof). I’m not presumptuous that I know what’s best for anyone. I will be both kind but also straightforward; honesty in a kind way is more important than approval. I love using metaphors, media references, and humor in sessions. I strive to be flexible while also remaining authentic, empathetic, and solution-focused.

My work centers on trauma and how people adapt to it. Recently, I have felt called to provide a safe haven for people who feel oppressed in our increasingly intolerant (and often violent) society, such as people of color and women. I know what it is like to be alone and feel unseen - even by family and friends. Have you been trading your authenticity for what you think is safety? That can be a dangerous situation. Let's get you back in line with your core values so you can start working toward the life you deserve.
