Life is a gift, but doesn’t always feel that way. Relationship and family conflict, health concerns, addictions, losses, and school/career/life transitions can leave us wondering where the joy went and whether it will ever get better. Other times we just know something seems off, we feel stuck, and we need help figuring it out or getting past it. If any of this sounds familiar, please know that you don’t need to live with excessive worry, sadness, shame, or uncertainty, regardless of your circumstances. There are MANY ways to get you feeling content, confident, at peace and fulfilled again; I am here to walk that journey with you!

Specializing in trauma, neglect, and C-PTSD has been focus of much of my career, but I've also had the privilege of supporting clients through grief, stress, anxiety, depression, negative self-criticism, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I strive to create a comforting space where you can express your thoughts and emotions openly without judgement. My recent work with adults has centered on healing from "old hurt," attachment issues, and even those dealing with narcissistic traits in others. If you are interested in talking briefly to see if we would work well together, feel free to send me a quick text or email.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like your emotions are running the show, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I work with adults who are navigating stress, difficult experiences, and emotions that can make everyday life feel heavier than it should. You might feel like you should be coping better, but something keeps getting in the way. Therapy is a space where we slow things down, make sense of patterns, and build practical skills that actually work in real life.

Many people today face complex problems related to employment, money, tragedy, mental and physical health, relationships, habits and addictions. The inability to cope with these added pressure and stresses of life sometimes interferes with our desire to be happy and live a satisfying life. While some may be able to make the needed adjustments on their own, others may need professional guidance to get their life back on track.

Alcohol Use Therapists
Are there specific medications for alcohol use?
There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.

How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
