Life is too short to feel like you can’t measure up, let trauma control your relationships, or be anxious/angry all the time.
Do you want to be listened to without criticism, judgment, or feelings of rejection? Most people do! But do you desire something more? When most people enter therapy, what they often truly desire is change. I want to help you achieve whatever solutions and life changes you are seeking while enjoying the process as much as possible. Simply said, I don’t believe therapy has to always be a painful thing. Calling a therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you will take a moment (and maybe even a deep breath) to reach out and see how I can help.

Feeling anxious? Using mind-body integration, I approach healing in a different way. If you've found that talk alone has not worked, then I may be a good fit for you. I'm trained extensively in the treatment of PTSD utilizing evidence based techniques such as TF-CBT and CPT.
We’ve been hearing for years from clients about how their previous therapist was a good listener, but they didn’t feel like they made much progress. While active listening is an important skill for a therapist, listening can only go so far. We believe what sets us apart from many other therapists is the fact we actually help you help yourself make the necessary changes in your life by giving you techniques, tools, skills, and guidance to achieve your goals. Additionally, we provide psychological evaluations for children and adults looking for diagnostic clarity to guide treatment recommendations.

I have over 15 years of counseling experience and am a LGBTQIA+ certified therapist. My areas of specialty include anxiety, trauma processing, life transitions, social skills, situational mutism, and working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. Many people are hesitant to seek counseling because they don't want to have to relive painful events. EMDR therapy enables individuals to reprocess traumatic events without explaining and reliving all the details.

I have experience working with teens/young adults, veterans, clergy, trauma , families, athletes, entertainers/models, students, and LGBTQIA+.
Therapy does not have to be boring, hard, or last years, I have heard from my clients that they enjoy coming to therapy and it was not like what they thought it would be. It's okay to laugh, talk, and generally have a good time while working on difficult complex situations and issues. You will be able to make necessary changes in your life by getting techniques, tools, skills, and guidance to achieve your obtainable goals. You will walk out of a session with a skill or two that you can go home and start using immediately. While any given technique doesn't work for everyone, I'll be sure to give you the tools specific for you.

To add to my education, I am a Certified Trauma Professional and trained in Trauma -focused CBT, Gestalt, and DBT.
Life is complicated. How we deal with these complications will determine the level of contentment one will have. You may not be the cause of all that troubles you, but you are the only one who can come up with solutions for these problems that will work for you. My job is to help you discover what is the reason for your pain and help you deal with the causes. Each person is unique, there are no cookie cutter solutions. I take a client centered approach to therapeutic interventions to help support you within your particular life situation.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
