I work with adults addressing life issues such as anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, stress, sleep issues, depression, life changes, relationship difficulties, trauma, and chronic illness.
Anxious, stressed, worried, or scared? On a scale from 1 to 10, how often do these feelings dominate your day? If this sounds like you, I am happy to help. I strive to provide a nurturing, non-judgmental, and encouraging space for growth and discovery. I am honored to help individuals learn how to move through their lives with awareness, self-compassion, and safety. I utilize a holistic approach with each client. If you are ready to enjoy your life and not live day to day in a state of panic and worry, let's connect. Even in a pandemic, we can learn to enjoy and thrive along the journey of life, not just survive each day.

Finding the right therapist can be a challenging process. Without direction, therapy can seem open-ended, abstract, and confusing. And although we may know we want to make personal changes, we might not be aware of the next steps. Therapy is most effective when it is focused on specific, measurable goals. Roswell Psychology was founded with the purpose of simplifying therapy. Therapy ends once you have met your goals and built your own evidence-based psychological repertoire.

Stress. It comes in many forms — perform at work, look to your family, be there for friends. But what about a that pressure you have that comes with a lot of internalized guilt and self-judgement? You persevere no matter how unfulfilling. Hanging-in-there seems like the only way. Don’t dare give up or powerful accusations of failure will most certainly follow. It takes guts to walk away, even when its the most positive action. Even when it opens up fresh challenges, more rewards and an equal relationship. The burden of expectations is difficult to manage. But it is possible to be free and be you. It’s not giving up. It’s moving on

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists

How effective is treatment for insomnia?

The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?

There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?

There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?

Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
