I have over 15 years of experience treating children, couples and families using an integrated approach based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and family systems theories. My primary interests are in communication, self-expression, self-esteem, anxiety and behavior problems. I served as the Student and Associate Chair of the Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists from 2009 -2012. I am the founder of Adaptive Therapy Counseling Group, LLC in Lilburn and Alpharetta, where I have treated individuals and families suffering from eating disorders, anxiety disorders and mood disorders for over 10 years.

Whatever circumstances you are coming from, I am here to validate your experience with non-judgmental support. I work with adolescents and adults who struggle with many different issues, including relationship problems, low self-esteem, adjustment difficulties, and identity exploration. I began my career as a therapist at a counseling center where clients focused on recovery from sexual abuse, which led me to develop a passion for helping clients heal from traumatic experiences.

My focus is on providing individuals (ages 3-25) with the tools they need to overcome their inner struggles, navigate the challenges of life, and develop resiliency for their future.

Hi. I am licensed as a mental health counselor in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. I have years of experience working with children, families, individuals, groups, couples, military and their families, college students, and people of the LGBTQIA+ community. In addition, I have worked in multiple therapeutic settings such as schools, group homes, outpatient clinics, therapeutic day treatment centers, intensive in-home centers, mental health skill building centers, and a plethora of other facilities, with a vast range of clientele.

I am comfortable working with clients of any religion, spirituality, ethnicity, nationality, culture, accent, gender, gender identification, sexual orientation, ability, disability, education level or lack thereof, political preference, style of speech and any kind of background, as long as they are over the age of 18. I have the most training and experience with victims of any kind of abuse and/or trauma, as well as those with substance abuse issues.

Deciding to come to counseling is a difficult one. My passion is to “walk along side” the person who ready to be challenged and work through being "stuck" from distressing experiences. My specialty is working with people who have traumatic pasts causing intrusive thinking/rumination; nightmares and flashbacks; and avoidance from others and situations. I am passionate about working with individuals and families to overcome underlying relational problems and to feel safe expressing their wishes and desires. I counsel with people who are dependent on drugs and alcohol working through what he or she is escaping from.
