My ideal clients have a broad range of concerns, including those who have suffered domestic and/or sexual abuse, other traumatic events, mood and anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. I can help these clients learn coping skills to gain confidence, grow resilient, accept and manage their conditions for a better quality of life. I am Dr. Hiza Jackson-Price, a Navy Veteran, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor and Clinical Addictions Specialist. I've provided both individual and group counseling to chemically dependent persons, as well as families, couples, active-duty military and Veteran populations.
My counseling style is empathic and interactive. I believe the counseling experience is a deeply personal interaction in which the most crucial aspects of this relationship are trust, respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. Counseling is a joint effort that can be successful with your hard work, energy, and courage.
I believe that a sense of self understanding and acceptance is essential in all situations, including understanding how our past experiences have shaped the way we view ourselves, as well as how we understand relating to others.
